I went to The Commoner for Pittsburgh Restaurant Week and left very disappointed. When I made my reservation, the official Restaurant Week menu online listed the Allen Brothers Steak as an entrée, and the Commoner’s website linked directly to that same menu. But when I arrived, I was given a printed menu that looked identical — except the steak was missing. The Commoner is one of our favorite, If not top favorite, in PGH. The food is amazing, the staff are pleasant, it’s very clean, and it’s hard to believe this is a PGH restaurant.
We went there for Sunday brunch. I loved that their menu wasn't too overwhelming but had good- sounding options. I got the pork belly and pierogies, and WOW. Really good. My daughter had a salad and fruit which looked so fresh. Would definitely go back next time I'm in Pittsburgh!
