“Pizza was really good with a nice thick crust. Not a taste I can keep eating which is weird but I’m picky. Got the Chicken strip combo also and that was really good. Gave me some red dipping sauce which I would have preferred ketchup.”

“What a pleasant surprise located just outside of Scranton, Pennsylvania. I was hiking in a state park just to the West of Scranton, and decided to pop over to a winery and see how good it is. Verdict? Pretty good! And when I say pretty good, I mean REALLY good for Pennsylvania. A lot of the wineries in this area basically sell glorified, overly sweet grape juice. Maiolatesi has that if you want it, but I do not want that. I prefer traditional wines, and Maiolatesi has a pretty solid selection! The unoaked Chardonnay was a real nice surprise. The Syrah/Cab Frank blend was solid. But the star of the show was the Sparkling Traminette/ I ended up buying a bottle, it was so good. The service was awesome. The ladies working in the tasting room were so friendly and helpful. The ambiance was nice. It was a bit too chilly to sit out on the deck, but I really wanted to because it was so pretty. We went in the fall and the leaves had turned, so the views off the deck were stunning. Really beautiful area. I don't know if Maiolatesi is worth going out of your way to visit, but if you're in the area it is absolutely worth a stop in.”

“Had an amazing experience at Anthony's! My family of 5 came in today on a roadtrip from Florida to Vermont and got a large variety of foods. I got breakfast, but the table also got burgers, pizza, and even wings! Speaking of which, the wings were possibly the best wings my family has ever had, and it's a shame we don't live in the area to have them more often. The pancakes had a homecooked taste to them and the chocolate chips were simply decadent. It's a family owned restaurant, so the food took a bit, but it was well worth the wait. Thank you for an amazing experience, we will definitely be repeat customers next time we are in town. :)”

“We first heard of Chef Von through Next Level Chef. We stopped today as we passed through Scranton. We had the new hangover smash burger which was off the charts. Everyone was super friendly, food was amazing and we even got to briefly met Chef Von. Highly recommended. Get there before he wins next level and you won’t be able to get a seat.”

I point this out as an indication of acceptable food preparation from those that have better reference than me.But let me give you Gringo Rob's perspective... The food was delicious! Seemed of good quality, very flavorful, and chicken was cooked perfectly. Girl at counter was nice and helpful and the owner was cordial. Good experience and we would definitely go back.Some things that kinda bothered me as follows. There was gross lack of atmosphere. Yes, an enticing aroma greets you when you walk in but it ends there. Décor is low budget, the place looks like a recycled strip mall front (which it is), few lamps were added but bright high hats remain and the place is too clinical. I don't recall if there was even background Indian music playing.Food is served in cardboard dishes which get soggy, deform and absorb the yummy sauces. Sorry, I would sacrifice the environment for another lick of the sauce!And a big pet peeve with this place and others in general (yes, I know this is common practice now) is that after I stand in line and place my order and go to pay the point of sale device gives me options for a tip (with the girl staring at me as I have to make a decision). I hate this! I have not yet tasted the food. I have not yet experienced any service. This is not a tip at all. This is simply a strong arm technique to extract more revenue. Just raise the prices and dont do this!But the chicken tikka was yummy. And the chicken curry was yummy. Ooh, and the garlic naan was soo good. And I am old and grumpy. So I will go back and I encourage all to try this place! And if the owner reads this, think about the décor and cardboard pates and see what you can do.By the way, I did cave and gave 18% tip at the register when I paid. And to my surprise, the girl said 'thank you' - I think the first time the POS tip was ever acknowledged at any of the many places that I have been to that do this! Kudos to the young lady!”

“This is a hidden little treasure in NEPA. The food is absolutely amazing - everything from the avocado egg sandwiches to the grilled cheese to the coffee cake muffins! YUM & the coffee is delicious! “Tonight me and my partner went for dinner. From the time we walked in until we left was nothing less than perfect. The service from Alyssa was amazing. The drinks were soo tastey(we had the st.pattys day themed drinks). The food was soo delicious and really big portions. We were soo full that we questioned getting dessert. I got the pork chop which was soo perfect that I barely had to chew it and cut with a butterknife!!. My partner got the chicken fricassee which he couldn't get enough of. The setting was beautiful. “This is a place I never knew existed to my knowledge. Secret I delivered pizz to an apartment across the street I did not know what it was. The service top notch, the breakfast I hat was excellent and well made and the atmosphere is a Diner but well maintained and attractive. Look it up on Google maps or how ever you do that, but go there once and I know you'll be back. Oh some times a bit of a wait but generally quick seating and they have a parking lot .Parking: L shape parking around the Diner and in the street!Kid-friendliness: Well I saw kids there. Lol”

“This is a really special American restaurant. The food is very good. There is care in most every dish. Some of the dishes have a very unique and total commitment from scratch. A lot of older people here are sort of crumbing it up, I’m jk. Their grilled portobello mushroom sandwich was a big reason why I started cooking myself over ten years ago and wanting to study hobby culinary. If you can make a mushroom taste that good in place of meat, the wheels are turning.”
