It looks exactly like a fairytale castle or a grand, private hunting chateau has popped up in the Pennsylvania mountains! ​The architecture is absolutely magnificent. The rough-hewn stone exterior, beautifully contrasted with the vibrant red ivy in the fall (as seen in my photos), evokes a powerful sense of history. The grand stone facade, rooted in the Dutch Colonial Revival style of the 1920s, instantly reminded me of a European castle—it truly is a stunning landmark. ​The interiors are just as impressive. The grand lobbies, with their beautiful wood paneling, towering arched windows, and cozy fireplaces, have the warm, elegant feel of an exclusive old-world club. Sunlight streaming through those enormous windows is a sight you have to see in person! ​Opened in 1928, this Historic Hotel of America sits on 5,500 acres of meticulously designed grounds—planned by the legendary Olmsted Brothers. Whether you are enjoying a round on the historic golf course, relaxing by the enormous fireplace, or exploring the extensive acreage, Skytop offers an atmosphere of timeless tradition and unmatched beauty. ​If you are looking for a getaway where elegance, history, and natural grandeur meet, Skytop Lodge is an absolute must-visit. It completely blew my mind and is a true gem of the Poconos!“
