“Miss Maya has created a customer for life. We visited a few nights ago. My boyfriend had a gift card and our terminally ill dog LOVES ice cream. Me and my 5-year old son went in, while dad and our pup stayed in the car. We did not disclose any of this to staff or mention that we were purchasing the “Like It” Sized peanut butter ice cream for our dog. While we were in line, my son was acting up. I was already upset about our dog and my son was on the verge of a full blown meltdown. Miss Maya discretely asked me if I wanted help. I accepted without hesitation. She encouraged my son to listen to Mommy and joked about putting him to work to earn his ice cream. She got a smile out of him. We checked out, I thanked her. It meant so much to me and was such an example of community and loving our neighbors. Today our dog crossed the rainbow bridge and gained her angel wings. My son’s request: to go get ice cream and see “that lady.” We did and Miss Maya definitely did not disappoint. She came from behind the counter and offered my son a hug. My usually shy, reluctant 5-year-old wrapped his arms around her neck and smiled. So much bigger than ice cream. She made a very sad little boy smile twice this week. Outside of this heart-felt interaction, ice cream was incredible and the facility is clean. For any nay-sayers on here complaining about customer service or melted ICE cream—I recommend getting a job in retail or the food service to get a dose of reality and hopefully some manners. Oh and yes, ice cream melts. My 5-year old can explain the physics later 😉 Thank you Miss Maya!“

You made a gorgeous celestial cake for my oldest during the pandemic and, most recently, a beautiful and delicious 25th birthday cake with the F1 theme she asked for. “I love what Happy Mixer has to offer generally. I'm already a faithful customer But, I recently did a custom order where I asked if they could make their chocolate dipped butter cookies as just butter cookies with sugar. It was something I wanted to try on a hunch I had about my past Christmas memories... Happy Mixer made a cookie that tasted exactly how my dad used to make sugar cookies at Christmas time. I can't thank you enough. I can have those cookies again, and I haven't had cookies like that since I went gluten free. Wonderful! Sometimes I ask Happy Mixer for the regular things they make with less icing or no icing - my father's northern German influence on me, I guess. And, The folks at Happy Mixer have been willing to do this for me, and I appreciate so much.“

“Last Saturday, January 31st, I was invited to a cake decorating party/course at Pound Cake Heaven. Ms. Pam and Ms. Tony were such gracious hosts, introducing us to the shop, the history of this amazing Black woman-owned company, and recent projects like for the US Navy's 250th Anniversary cake! Melanie expertly taught our group of amateur and semi-professional cake bakers how to decorate a 2 layered cake. The butter cream smelled and tasted delicious and so did the cake overall! I would definitely recommend the course and bake goods! Thank you all so much for such an enjoyable time!“
