“I usually post photos in most of my reviews, but I was particularly hungry during my stop at Down on the Farm Creamery at the shops next yo the Choo Choo Barn and, Choo, my ice cream treat was gone in a matter of minutes. I live this place, and you will too.“
“Yummy ice cream and food! We stop here a few times a year when we're in the area. Check out the old soda fountain behind the counter - now modified with a modern soda machine, but still cool.In the Fall - pumpkin ice cream in a homemade waffle cone! Also, love the Reuben! It smells amazing in there when they are making the waffle cones. There's a small parking lot on the side of the building, with an outdoor seating area (in addition to about 6 booths inside). Only one bathroom, though.“
“When we visit Lancaster we always stop here. This location is the actual farm, they have the best homemade ice cream, milk, butter. If you're like us we traveled a couple hours to get here we always bring a cooler because we buy ice cream to bring home. Get a waffle cone because they're homemade and delicious. The prices are extremely reasonable and the staff are exceptionally nice.“
“They have the best ice cream that I have ever had anywhere in my life.Ice cream in fancy ice creameries at shops or stores, or even "Amish made" is nowhere close to their taste and quality.Let's not forget their drinks, well made and give no acne.Prices, good. Very fair and worth it.“
“Well done!!This place is awesome. The food was delicious, the ice cream… delicious-er.The staff needs to be cloned and sent to every restaurant on earth. They were patient, helpful, and genuine. And the elegant simplicity of the decor was welcoming and endearing.I’ll go the 15 miles out of the way to get to this place again!“
“We visit on every trip to Lancaster county. Love their pies, cookies, whoopie pies and especially their dinner and hamburger rolls. They also have good ice cream and will make you a shake. During the summer there is a food truck outside baking pretzels. They're also extremely helpful if there's something special you want they will make it for you, you can either call or order it while you're there and pick up the next day. Coconut cream pie is amazing. Pumpkin pie also amazing, and pumpkin custard pie is seasonal but definitely worth trying.“
“The food for the two of us was ready in less than 10 min. The pulled pork on fries with cheese sauce and BBQ is delicious! My husband enjoyed his pulled pork sandwich also! The soft pretzels were soft and a definite recommend. The triple chocolate ice cream had an excellent flavor, but was perhaps a bit icy.“
“Super adorable sweet shoppe with a great selection of everything from nostalgic candy great ice cream flavors and homemade chocolates...will definitely be back to try some more stuff. We had coffee oreo ice cream and cookies and cream..delish! Great little outside area too!“
“Lovely little country store. Homemade breads, desserts, salads, dinners, etc. The woman are always helpful and knowledgeable. There were a couple that were rude and very judgemental but I haven't seen them in a while. Best milk in lancaster by far!“
“Attended a company party in their event space "down under" the regular shop. Such an entertaining evening the owners shared the history of the building and historical photos decorated the room along with news articles some about the jail cell still visible. Service was top notch with servers checking that our family style meal was meeting our desires. Easy recommendation for your next event. Only disadvantage to the comforting food, maple bacon crack, soft pretzel bites, Pulled Pork, mac and cheese, baked corn and desserts being so tasty was I have no pictures of them. Chocolate cake with Peanut Butter Icing and chocolate chip pie were accompanied by vanilla ice cream that was packed with flavor yet not overly rich or sweet. Going there again soon!“
“I’ve eating their ice cream for a few years which has always been fantastic but yesterday I tried the soup for the first time and oh my goodness, it’s amazing! This will be my go to place for soup from now on.Dietary restrictions: Soup was gluten free.“
“It has the ice cream shop vibe that we all remember from our childhood, at least I do. It's a pleasant wait in a calming environment, it's fun to watch them work, even if it's not my order. It tastes great, and is so creamy. This place rocks.“
“Came here for the second time and was able to try their ice cream for the first time. I ordered a bowl of 2 scoops- marshmallow chocolate and peanut butter ripple, which cost a little less than $5. What's hot - Quality of ice cream. I really enjoyed the flavors I got! Their marshmallow chocolate was actually marshmallowy. The chocolate flavor wasn't too sweet and didn't overpower the marshmallow, either, which I enjoyed. Their peanut butter ripple appears to be a very popular flavor, because the bucket was practically empty by the time I ordered, which was close to closing time. The consistency of the peanut butter ripple is the best! The peanut butter is not too creamy and sweet; it had a hint of saltiness. - Variety of options at store. In addition to the ice cream, they sell meals and snacks, including bubble tea; the latter, of which, I'm very hesitant in trying. There are also many grocery options, like regular pies, whoopie pies, Jams, jellies, savory snacks, etc.... - Price. Pretty reasonable, depending on what you're getting. Paying $5 for my 2 scoops of ice cream is good value for money, especially given the quality of the ice cream. - Holiday hours. They were open the day after Christmas, which was great. I asked them why they're open and Emma's Popcorn was not. One of the staff told me they're staffed with Mennonites, so; it sounds like their hours may be more flexible. What's not - Regular store hours. Even though they are staffed with Mennonites, keep in mind their hours aren't too flexible, in that they don't open past a certain time. - Location. Depending on where you're coming from, this place may be out of your way. Additionally, they're not conveniently located to other shops. Final Answer Definitely plan on returning.“
“Incredible selection and super-friendly standholders. My parents used to buy strawberries there on our way down to Port Deposit back in the 60's, and the quality and prices are just as reasonable. I bought 6 large tomatoes there for $3--unbelievable compared with other market stands.“
“Central Market Flowers has an option to include a deluxe box of candies with the flowers; my mother loves them every time. She raves about the variety, rich ingredients and delicious flavors. They make extra special occasions even more meaningful.“
“Wonderful relaxed setting. Comfortable and the staff so cheerful and friendly. Loved this place. Food was really good, we had the beef and noodles and the meatloaf. For dessert we had the apple dumpling with homemade vanilla ice cream.....did not get a pic, it went down fast and remembered afterwards! The food was excellent. The ice cream was the best i have ever tasted. It was so creamy and smooth. It was our 1st time as we were visiting from Canada“

“Just got ice cream this time. It was good! Service felt a bit slow.. they had two different flavors of SOFT SERVE! Also hand dipped is good here. It's a bit of a time capsule. ? Lots of different ice cream options in this area, and this one has its place.“
“What a great place! Kids will love the inside barn to play in. A great place for families. Food is delicious ! Fresh, cooked fast, immaculate, clean rest room. Local products from their farm are used. Ice cream is fabulous. Kids can run around and have fun. We’ve gone about 15 or more times now. Our go to place on rte 340 to meet up with family.Vegetarian options: Portobello sandwich. Delicious.Parking: Ample parking lot!!Kid-friendliness: There is a fabulous kids barn inside this huge space. Faux animals in the barn. Mooing calf outside the barn. Kids can sit on a stool and pretend they are milking. There is a shoot to drop wooden eggs in a wire basket. Kids love it. Stairs go up to a big green tube slide. You can eat at tables close by and watch your kids play. Very friendly area. Lots of families and Amish too. Outdoor tables. Emma’s Gourmet Popcorn is next door!Wheelchair accessibility: There is a wide ramp from handicap spaces to the front door.“
“Visited twice - had ice cream the first time. Very good. The second time Italian ice - hubby had watermelon and I had peach. Both were delicious- they actually tasted like fresh frozen fruit. Lovely sitting area with beautiful flowers. Wish they had one in our home town.“
“This review is for the customer service that I received from Josh on Saturday. He went beyond what most associates do and made my day. Thanks for going the extra mile and making sure your guest are taken care of. Highly recommend this place.“
“The best food I have ever had here, well prepared and good service, I always love their service (feminine)The best food I have ever had here, well prepared and good service, I always love their service (masculine)Vegetarian options: Very good“
“Late September and surprised an icecream shop is open. :)The girl at the counter was very nice and patient. The size chart I think is only slightly misleading. I figured $6 for a large cup in this economy is pretty alright. Said large cup was about the size of my forearm, no exaggeration! The girl balanced it perfectly! There is a LOT on their menu (which is good for variety). If you’re looking for soft serve chocolate-vanilla swirl/mix, they have it.The way the building is, it’s not an icecream shop that you can enter. Both doors are for employees only. There is a neon sign on one side that says “open/close” without hours posted outside I think, unless I missed it.Tl:dr - the staff girl is nice and the icecream is surprisingly a lot (which is a good thing) :)“
“It was quiet today, but the two ladies that helped us did a great job. My don got to sample two flavors and picked one of them for his ice cream. May have to go back to try the bday cakes or other goodies!Vegetarian options: It’s ice cream so much of the food is vegetarian-friendly. Some mix-in options have gelatin.Dietary restrictions: There was signage that stated allergens, e.g. contains wheat, contains peanuts“
“Roast beef sandwich was amazing, and the ice cream was amazing! Wish I had ordered a double scoop. We had a lovely time, service was pleasant, and the play area and goats outside were a nice end to our trip. We brought home some apple dumplings and can't wait to try them. Will definitely be back.“
“Here's the scoop! We've been following the Pennsylvania ice cream trail and this was an exceptional place located on a large dairy farm. The is a huge grocery store. I bought knish at the deli. There is a full restaurant. I think there is a buffet. There is a playground, animals to pet. Sunflowers to cut. And there's ice cream. Good variety of flavors. We each enjoyed a single dip. It was early. Not crowded. Plenty of room on the multilevel covered deck.“
“Very nice atmosphere and very friendly helpful people. Very clean inside and out. Very delicious ice cream. Thats my first time but my relatives been here before and they liked it at the first time so are we. They have chikens and goats, small cows. My kids loved it, they petting goats and feedings them it was fun for kids. They love animals. Thank you so much for everything. Defenetly a come back place.“
