“We thoroughly enjoy the food here. It's always good and we love their pierogie of the day special. The wait staff are very attentive and always make sure to check for drink refills. It's a bar in a college town but you see people of all ages here. They smoke their one meats and do a great job. Where else can you get duck tacos????“
“Nice local place with great food and very reasonable prices. Service is excellent, with an attentive waitstaff. Photos include the White Russian (cheesesteak with bacon and provolone) and Rachel (cornedbeef with coleslaw).Parking: Private lot with additional street parking if needed.Kid-friendliness: Family friendly atmosphere.“
“Stumbled upon this gem on the way home from Allentown. Not sure why everyone didn’t give it 5 stars… let’s just say they are WRONG! Our waiter Alex was phenomenal! It’s so refreshing to have someone who knows the menu and can give you an honest opinion. He recommended the French dip, which is something my boyfriend never would have ordered, and he was drooling with every bite! We had an espresso stout and a vanilla chocolate milk stout and if you like stouts they were delicious!!! (We aren’t IPA fans so can’t review that part.) We also had the cauliflower fries with Thai chili dip… so good. They had some really unique options on the menu. Things you wouldn’t (or couldn’t ) make at home but also classics that anyone would enjoy. The “Among Us” burger is their gluten free vegan option, which is usually typical, but they chose to step up the toppings which really made it exceptional! Side option are fries and chips and we tried both options and they chose wisely! Both are worth trying. Can’t wait to come back through this way! Who am I kidding? We will make a detour here anytime!“
“The food was amazing! The bartender (Megan) is one of our favorites and the other is Devon. Both women are very friendly and outgoing! Randy the owner is very nice also very pleasant. I would highly recommend you go there! Thanks for being great bartenders and owner. We will see you soon again!“
“We have stopped here a few times. It's really worth the trip! Tonight we had the vegetable soup, burger special, chicken wontons and loaded tots. Soup was very good and the rest came out pretty quick for how busy they were. Service was great, we didn't wait at all for drinks. Love that you can play the Boombah's!! Definitely a stop if you are in the area.“
“This place is old, allows smoking, has cheap domestic beer on tap, sells pickled red beet eggs two for a dollar and a half, has surly barmaids, and is filled with half drunk locals, in other words, the perfect bar. Dive in yourself you won't be disappointed.“
“Ate there tonight for the first time. Ordered the nachos with chili, because I had never eaten there and wanted to play it safe. Boy, did they elevate nachos to the next level. Super fresh ingredients, and everything had great flavor to it. My wife had some type of fried shrimp appetizer, which was also awesome. Staff was VERY nice, and service was excellent.“
“Went to the saloon last night and saw a great band called The Programme. The sound was great and the atmosphere was fantastic. The bartender was working hard to make sure that everyone was taken care of and she is friendly, and pretty cute too. The band was incredible.“
“I had not been to Union Jack’s in several years and was excited to go there a few days ago. Their menu is pretty robust with excellent pub fare, sandwiches, and wings amongst other items. We sat outside and received outstanding customer service. Our order consisted of fish and chips, a sandwich, burger, and two orders of wings. Everything was delicious. The strawberry habanero wing sauce is exceptional. We will be returning soon and exploring more items on the menu.“
“I’m loving the bars opening up in grocery stores- it’s my new hang. Weiss pub is open later than the local restaurants and bars which is great of you have a different schedule than traditional M-F with late hours. Kelly is the sweetest person and she makes sure you are enjoying yourself. The slushees are great. Beer selection is good. I can’t wait to make it out for Karaoke on Monday nights!“
“I was there for the 1st time at 7am waiting for a ride. The place is a bit dark, but very clean. The bartender was awesome. She came over the second I settled in. She told me what was available food-wise. I just ordered fries which were delicious .They even had malt vinegar for an extra treat. The prices were excellent for the quantity and quality of the bar food they serve. The drinks are a generous size as well.“
“Lunch date with hubby. We ordered the cheesesteak and wings. Absolutely delicious! Probably the best cheesesteak I have ever had. Husband said, it took him back to his childhood, lol. The wings were huge and tasty. We will definitely be back.“
“If you like old school dive bars (without smoking, thank you!), this is your place. The building is awesome. The beer is cheap, the food is super reasonable and amazingly good, the service is fantastic, and the local entertainment is off the charts. One of the best burgers I have had in a while. The fries were really good. Everyone was raving about whatever they were eating.I would drive out of my way to stop in here for some entertainment and an inexpensive evening.“
“Fast Service and delicious food. Had the Brewers Pizza, Spinach and Artichoke Dip, and a Cookies Martini. The restaurant has a very homie feel to it and it's a place I would definitely come back to.Parking: In the back of the restaurant. The street is a one way.“
“The lobster bisque was absolutely incredible. The burgers are big and juicy and full of flavor. So happy we gave the new owners a chance! It is a little pricy, but honestly worth every penny! Everything was really good and filling! I truly appreciate the non judgmental attitude about the dietary restrictions as well, because this is rare for me to experience! Awesome job!“
“I found this place 10 years ago while on a search for "local good food" and I have not gone a week without visiting since. Great food, great atmosphere and great people. Highly recommended. BTW, the French Onion Soup is amoung the best I've had, if not the best.“
“Usually I am very pleased with this location, however, just took the time to travel 45 minutes one way to this restaurant, to find out they’re closed now on Sundays apparently, there was no signs explaining if this was once off or not, all lights off, and the business owner was inside the building but ignoring people’s prescience. The date of attempted but failed visit was February 25, 2024. I suggested to Google that they ought to contact the establishment for updated hours of operation, since this seems to be inaccurate.Edit to owner: no, on Sunday your hours of operation both on your site and Google showed as either 11am to 9pm or 1pm to 9pm. That’s why I am the one that suggested you update your hours, I’m the reason that was pushed to you, the owner, through Google, because I was upset to travel to see as such. And to say that, no, if I’m correct the owner was a female, blonde hair. I’ve met her before. If not she was the manager, and I saw her behind the bar when I pulled up and stepped out to walk into the establishment to be greeted with a locked door when every place I checked said they were open.“
“I have driven by here a several times during the day and had no idea there was a restaurant and bar here. A friend just told me about the Bowers Hotel when I mentioned I was coming up to Topton later in the day. We did stop for dinner on our way and what a wonderful surprise. The food was perfect, large portions, and so affordable. THANK YOU!!! We will definitely be back. The wait time for the dining room wasn't too bad maybe 15-20 minutes. Bar was full. Waitress was nice and knowledgeable. All the staff hustles. It's like eating back in rural Iowa where everyone knows your name. Lots of locals eat here. Just the way we like it. We drive 45 minutes to get here but it would be worth it. The salmon on a salad was really good. I requested greens with no iceberg. My husband's chicken dinner was really good too. The rolls with real butter were worth every calorie. And I couldn't resist the peach cobbler with ice cream. It was huge. Enough for 2-3 people or just for my meal. It was delicious.“
“Its a very cute, old pub. The food is pretty good. And they have many food options to choose from, but they dont have much for gluten free people. That is the only reason I didnt give 5 stars for food. The serving staff is accomadating, and the place is kept in really good condition. My family likes to eat there.Kid-friendliness: Perfectly fine to bring kids for dinner.“
“We ate there today, we had wings and a spinach and artichoke dip for appetizers. Both were delicious. They even toasted the chips for the dip. We also bought a cheeseburger and fries and they toasted the roll. I think they paid attention to the details which matter. We sat at the bar and waitress staff were attentive. I would go back.“
“Cheap, super frosty cold beers, nice bartenders, and chill bar. They have 3 pool tables and a nice open layout. It is a smoking bar and has a smoking bar vibe. All the people were nice and it was a comfortable atmosphere. The have a digital jukebox to play music and it wasn’t too loud where you can’t talk to each other, but not too quiet either. Definitely going back!“
