“Wasn’t sure what to expect going in, but was pleasantly surprised. Very down home atmosphere and good music. The bartender was a sweetheart and attentive. Drinks were a little pricier than anticipated at $10 a drink for Tito’s and club.“

The place was pretty packed on a Saturday between 3-6. Most everyone was nice, too. We didn't eat so I couldn't speak of the food but the drinks were reasonable and the service was good.“

“Despite being a little run-down, the Mermaid is understandably well-loved for its historic building retaining much of its architectural detail & charm. The colonial era inn claims the finely-detailed rich brown wood bar is original.We visited for the first time to see the final performance of the fantastic groove-band the Sacred Cowboys. Bartenders need to learn how to work the remote for the music , It is Bose system that you can adjust for each end of the bar and the right channel is off along with the bass . lol I always listen to music when I am there .“

“Enjoyed a Friday emending meal, they were accommodating to being Gluten Free. I enjoyed the sticky rice bowl (without the teriyaki sauce) and it was delicious. Others in the party (not GF) enjoyed the seared tuna, the Nashville hot chicken sandwich was good (note that the hot sauce is a ranch base, not a hot honey base), and the youngsters enjoyed the Mac n’ cheese and burger.“

While I have fond memories of coming here for many years, it was nice to see this Buckingham staple under new ownership. I enjoyed conversing with Marin Hoeger, who shared how his team plans to update the menu for healthy options while still retaining the authenticity of this fine establishment. On a personal note, I found Marin and his team to be of most agreeable company and genuinely committed to writing a new and better chapter. “First and foremost, kudos to Nicki who is an excellent and very observant server. The food was good-my meatball parm sandwich was very tasty, and the personalized margherita pizza also delicious. The burger was a little dry and served medium well instead of medium rare. Tutor tots and fries both really yummy and hot. Band playing was absolutely fantastic. Fun place!!“

“Bar was packed on a Saturday night. They had a band that started late, which went into the DJ time. There was a certain crowd for the band, and then it switched to the crowd for the DJ. DJ played hip-hop. The food was ok. Service was extremely slow, but they were short-handed. Staff seemed pretty nice except being overwhelmed. I'm not sure if it's like that all the time as it was the Saturday before Halloween and was touted to be a Halloween Party.“
