“I hosted a 60th Birthday Party yesterday in Jake’s private front room / large enough for our 50 guests. We served wings, baked ziti, chicken cutlets, chicken marinara, scalloped potatoes, and salad. Everyone enjoyed the food, the lakefront view of Elk Lake, and the casual, relaxed, and clean atmosphere.Many friends stayed through the evening to enjoy drinks, live music, and a little pool in the main bar area.I highly recommend checking Jake’s out for your next event!”

“RECOMMEND if you want your meal ruined and get ignored and leave hungry! Awful experience! Rude staff! Ignored us for almost an hour and would not bus open tables. We cleaned our own and got ourselves cutlery and menus. They ignored us longer and left us at a filthy table while others came in and were served. They said they were understaffed . People kept getting clams (clam night) and then we heard a waiter say no more clams. No excuse for this nastiness! I will tell everyone about this experience. Totally ignorant! Stay away! RUDE! Especially 2 female servers.”

“AJ’s is the best place to go to have a great time and enjoy yourself. The bar staff is outstanding and extremely friendly. They works very hard running around all night during events serving drinks and food. Danny, one of the owner’s, is very accommodating to everyone. I like the fact that Danny joins in with all of his customers right on the dance floor then makes the dash to clean the tables off and make sure everybody has what they need. We’ve eaten there many times and the food is always great. Outstanding kitchen! I highly recommend going to a place that is fun to be at to have a good time. The bands that Danny gets are absolutely fantastic and top-notch. Give AJ’s a try for yourself. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.”

“Barbour’s has been around for as long as I can remember. I used to stop in when I was a kid, and now as an adult, I love stopping in to this gem when in town. When seeking a birthday cake, Barbour’s is where I go! The cakes are beautiful, delicious and reasonably priced. The owner and staff are incredibly helpful and gracious. Recently, I worked with Janet to create a masterpiece of a wedding-style tiered cake for my in-laws 60th anniversary. It was stunning!! Barbour’s not only literally delivered the cake to the venue, they delivered a beauty. Thank you to Janet and all of the other friendly folks at Barbour’s who are so helpful. No wonder your longevity—you put quality and customer as number one!”
