“A nice spot, rather informal but still fun. We split the lamb glaba, which was fairly good, and the fahsah, which came with large flatbread and was really good. You do have to pay for water. Our server was helpful and easy to talk to. Overall I'd say its a fun ethnic spot to visit. They did some weird stuff with the bill- I think they charged the credit card tax ahead of time on everything regardless of payment method, so be aware of that.“

“They had a special deal going on all day today, and I Got a free chicken gyro. I live close by and i had been thinking of trying it out ever since it opened up and finally went today since it was free, and have to say I was impressed. It was delicious and well prepared. Quick service and like I said, free, lol so couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you guys that were out there working & preparing food for free all day! I will be sure to tip a little bit the next time. ??????“

“I tried Nafi's over a year ago but I can't believe I forgot to leave a review. The food options are so much more unique compared to the other halal carts near 33rd & market. Chicken biryani and butter chicken are great. The owner is also a very nice guy.“

“I would give this place an infinite amount of stars if it were possible. When me and my friends lived around here, we loved hitting this Halal cart up on Friday nights. We even made the occasional pilgrimage there once we lived in separate places around Philly.Majit (and later Salman) always whipped up the freshest food, had a smile on their face, and were glad to talk with us. Salt of the earth. If you like Halal you owe it to yourself to get in front of the Fishtown Planet Fitness and order a lamb/falafel combo platter with your sauces of choice.“

“Been coming to this lunch truck for 2 - 3 years. I'm impressed at the consistency with the flavor & quality of food. It's good every time. I stop by every week & it's pretty quick. Even when it picks up at during lunch rush & dinner it's not a long wait consider the line.“

“I grew up on homemade Middle Eastern food made daily by my parents, so I’m very picky when it comes to authenticity. I’ve tried a few places that just didn’t hit the mark—but AL SHAM in Chalfont is a straight 10/10!! They serve real Arabic bread (pita)—not tortillas disguised as pita like you find at other places—and their homemade Lebanese toum (garlic aioli) is the real deal. One bite of their falafel wrap instantly transported me to a boardwalk in Lebanon, overlooking the Mediterranean—complete with fresh bread, Lebanese pickles, and those perfect pickled turnips. The meat is 100% Halal and you can taste the quality. Flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. **This is the kind of spot you want to support. We’ll be back again and again—do yourself a favor and try them ASAP**“

“Best halal cart in the city. Yo can trust me, I am very picky about this kind of stuff. Food is always fresh and huge portions, complex flavor, tender meat and the owner is beyond nice .he takes pride in his food and cart. He even once gave me a free plate when I came by too late when he was supposed to be closed. Great people great food!!“
“I used to live in Philly. I bumped into this place and WOW the food is amazing. I now live in Harrisburg Pa. and when I'm craving I get upset because I'm so far away. My wish is that they open a food truck here. Still best halal food I've ever tasted.“

“This place rules the late night! Fast, friendly, well priced, and delicious. Hot chicken slider with slaw on it was awesome, spicy tenders with fries were great. Need to try the falafel next.
I love late night dining after a show and this place saved my night in a sleepy Philly.“

“Where can you find a good quality tasty and satisfying lunch that's for less than $10 in town? Penn Halal food truck on 40th and Locust that's where! I didn't even have to ask for hot sauce because it's offered on most platters along with white sauce. (Definitely choose both. )There's plenty of seating on nearby benches and the campus grass too. If the weather is nice it's all the atmosphere you need!“

“Was so excited to be back in the area to finally get fish, shrimp & rice. Went here because my usual place was not open. A little disappointed. It was ok but had a different taste than what I remember. No fault of theirs. Maybe I was just used to the cart location I previously frequented. Didnt really like the location. Too many young people loitering in parking lot.“

“I visited the truck during my lunch break to pick up lunch for me and my mother. We both got the chicken over rice with the salad. The man in the truck was very nice and personable. The person in front of me ordered six plates, and he served them promptly. When it was my turn order, he greeted me warmly and served the food fairly quickly. The food is delicious and the portions are great, the meal comes with a drink as well. it's a plentiful serving because I only ate half for dinner and had the other half the next day for lunch and it was just as delicious. I think overall, you can't beat the delectable taste with the price. 10/10“

“I always like the option of a “24 hour” restaurant even though I went during the early evening/dinnertime. They have a traditional Uzbek menu, including plov, samsas and soups. There’s a convenient central Asian 24 hour grocery shop a few storefronts down also. Definitely check it out!“

“TRUST ALL THE 5 STAR REVIEWS!!! I have passed by this place on my way to work and back home again everyday for as long as it's been open. For whatever reason I never decided to stop. I pulled up around 8:30pm which is just a half hour until they close and had no issue getting served. I got the lamb over rice and it was absolutely amazing. The white sauce is soooooo good. The man running the place seemed like a nice guy too. I'm not one to take the time to write a review, but this food was so good that I felt it necessary to leave one. I can say for certain that I will now be a regular here. Enjoy!“

“When the mood for halal hits, this is my go-to spot. I will not hesitate to skip past the dozens of options in center city and venture over to eat here. Friendly service. Check. The food is always spot on, I typically get chicken and falafel over rice. The portions are big, and he’s generous with the sauces. Every time I eat here I think, I gotta hear more often. Big 5 stars!“

“Ordered 2 weeks in a row! Food is absolutely amazing. Wings are so yummy and the shawarma is the best! The order was perfect, exactly what we ordered
Love, love,love
On a side note, we ordered through door dash. On the porch, there are 3 tables with a huge note stating “for deliveries”
The dasher put our order on the ground right in front of our door, so when I opened the door, the whole bag fell! No common sense! Not the restaurant’s fault“

“Went to Khusbu today and got the Kala Bhuna along with Beef Tehari. The food me reminded of my mom's cooking back home in Bangladesh. It's pretty rare that you get to see Bengali food sold anywhere. I decided to come where with my friend the moment I saw the items. The owner was really good and personable he gave us Malai Tea on the house for us. I recommend you to come here for a taste of Bengali food along with Indian food if that's what you prefer.“
“First time here and the food was delicious! Hubby and I both had the chicken and lamb gyro and also ordered the onion rings and fries. Onion rings were tasty and not greasy at all! We will go back and try other dishes too.“

“We had lunch at Barakat Restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious! I loved the Chicken Shawarma. My husband got the samsa and plov, and he really enjoyed them too. I definitely recommend checking it out! Plus, the service was super fast. The ambience is nice, a recently updated place. Perfect for lunch or dinner, but not necessarily a special occasion.“

“I order from here pretty often i LOVE LOVE LOVE the lamb & rice platter & the potato wedges. Giving 5star review bc besides i love the food, i also feel so bad an unfortunate thing happened to both us the consumer and the business because of the delivery driver. We ordered from grubhub as we usually do and it appears the delivery driver stole $50 worth of food and cancelled our order. Im not even sure why the driver is allowed to cancel our order like that, so its terrible theyre out of that $ as well as we dont have our food. So we called halal food king and they were super helpful and advised to order instead on doordash bc the drivers are nicer.“

“Visiting family in Philly and wanted to try a halal Philly Cheesesteak. Had some In The Uk with varied quality. Saad’s is way way ahead. Big, juicy, very very tasty. Reasonably priced, staff are lovely. Place is set up like a diner and kept very very clean. We are here a few times during our trip, tried others but had to come back. Eat j. And takeaway service is good. My recommendations. Cheesesteak with mushrooms, kofta hoagie. Had a chat with Saad, nice guy. Looked after us.“
