“First of all, without further ado, or any ado for that matter, a hearty❤️shout out to four of the best bartenders who know their craft, their customers, and the meaning of the word comraderie. They know how to pour, what to pour, and who to pour it for. I never name names, but in this case, I will set a new precedent. Kudos to Kyle, Paige, Bailey, and Ryan. Each of whom, it would seem, come from different worlds and life experiences. All of whom are going places, be it in academic education, hospitality, entrepreneurship, or perhaps being the best at building a conventional life with style, love of life, family, and humanity in the aggregate. Dare I say it, the last of a dying breed.I've met some of the most fun and prolific characters at 24 who've made me feel at home in Pennsylvania, although I am from afar, i.e. Philly . The kind of folks who go out of their way to say hello as they make their way to the bar.Sometimes, after work, feeling a bit peckish, I will peruse the menu and discover some great interpretations of salads (Caesar) and snacks (Truffle fries) that hit the spot and keep me busy enjoying one of my favorite past times: eating. And from what I've seen at various and sundry tables at various times through the course of any given evening, this kitchen delivers hearty inspired entrees sure to give you reason to give positive word of mouth with regard to culinary talent. For myself, I'm going in - and intend to try nearly every item on the menu. One of the many reasons to make this establishment one of your (and my) weekly go-to's. See you at the bar.P.S. “Just wanted to give a shout out to Railroad House and their staff. April, Manager Adam, and our waitress Mary were super accommodating on helping us celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday. Food was great, our waitress Mary did a phenomenal job keeping up with our party of 13 drinks and food order. April had our table reserved and even accommodated us when more people joined our party. Adam checked in on us thru out the night and even brought the birthday girl a shot.Thank you all!! Highly recommend. If you come in with a large party, call ahead and they will take care of you.“

“It is a throw back bar.Ok..Ok..It a dive.! but a great dive bar! Walking in takes you back in time. I don't think there is a more laid back bar than Huie's in Berks County. Want to smoke a cigarette? You can. They don't chase you outside to smoke. It is the most non pretentious bar I have every been to. Beer prices are great. Scott, the bartender, is such a nice guy. Pretty damm smart too. Don't challenge him in Jeopardy unless you want to get your butt handed to you. This bar may not be for everyone and that's a good thing but it's good enough for me and all the other nice people who go there!! 1/2/24.. The greatest dive bar in Berks County. There are a lot of regulars and a lot if banter. If you are thin skinned or easily offended, this is not the place for you. If you come in feeling entitled or special, or demanding or complaining you won't feel that way when you walk out. Yeah, it a little clicky but it's like family when you are part of the click.“

“Just moved into the area and Mari’s is going to be the place to go for me. I love trying different beers more than getting a lot of one particular beer. Mari’sis the only beer store I’ve seen where virtually everything can be found in a single. Most places take the more expensive craft beers and keep them in 4/6 packs but at Mari’s you can either get that or buy a single can or bottle. It’s genius really. I’m way more likely to buy many singles than spend $20 on a craft four pack I may not like and the selection is pretty great as well. Awesome store.“

“How many neighborhood bars have you been to? How many of those places are welcoming if you've been there once, ten or a hundred times? With good, incredibly cheap food AND a pool table? And you can do your laundry next door! With a personable, caring owner who is there day in and day out? This is the epitome of a neighborhood bar. The jukebox is great as well! Don't let the appearance fool you, this is one of the greatest spots you will find in the Reading area.“

“My father was a member of the club from the early days of the club in the early 40’s and with his brothers and club friends doubled the size of the building in the early 50’s (he had me help as the mud boy to keep them supplied with fresh concrete ) doing the brick & concrete work as a member donation to the club. I joined The club at age of 21 and became a LIFE MEMBER in 1985.“

“Had dinner early on a Friday night and couldn’t be more pleased. We had apps, entrees and dessert coffee and were in and out in an hour. Enough leftovers for two lunches and tastes great! Waitress could have been more personable, but otherwise a great experience.“

“Absolutely fantastic experience at Ganly's Irish Pub and Restaurant! The service was top-notch — the wait staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The night manager was also very welcoming and personable.

We both enjoyed our meals greatly — I had the Maryland mac and cheese and my wife got the beef stroganoff. Both dishes were absolutely delicious, super rich, flavorful, and served with huge portions. The quality and taste totally justified the slightly higher prices, especially since we ended up taking leftovers home and enjoyed them for two more meals.

Highly recommend Ganly's for anyone looking for an authentic, hearty meal with excellent service. We'll definitely be returning!“

“I see people talking bad about this place, which I don't agree with them. It is a good, nice and clean place and the service deserves it, and if it is a place more for men than for women, it is obvious or else it would be decorated like Barbie or Dora the Explorer, it is what it is and the colors suit everyone's taste. It's very cool, I love it.“
