“My family loved the location: we watched the waves from the „first row“, so to say. We had the daily fish (seabream), it was really good. Our friend had the omelets, she was happy. Sangrias good. But then when we wanted cakes a very unfriendly waitress came (until then we were served by a bit toothless but friendly guy) and in a very unfriendly way said no cakes and then in a very unfriendly way we got our coffees. I was kind of baffled by that. The bill was very high compare to other places.“

Era um bolo o do caco que ti há já sigo congelado possivelmente mas a “manteiga de alho” era margarina… sem sal e ainda por cima sem alho e pouca salsa. 100% margarina fiquei furioso. Deixamos o bolo para trás. Espero que isto seja visto pois manteiga de alho n se faz com margarina….“

“Without exaggeration, one of the best meals we’ve ever had, and our favorite meal in Madeira. We got the beef brisket and pork shank, which were excellent! The meats are all marinated and smoked on-site and the flavors are truly delicious. To drink we just had the fresh squeezed lemonade which was wonderful. For dessert we had the passion fruit crème brûlée which was incredible. Wonderful and super friendly service! If you have the chance, definitely make it a point to try this place!“

Greeted by Suzanna with a great smile, in French, she brought us on a large platter 4 superb fresh whole fish from which to choose the one we were going to taste. Deliciously grilled, soft, we feasted on a superb sea bream, a hearty and tasty plate. So, either we don't have a sea view, the style is more tavern, with paneling but we delight our taste buds for a more than fair price, proof that the address is good, the queue, we don't don't reserve!! We had a great bowl, a free table straight away!! Local atmosphere, a little noisy but lively. All the staff are super efficient in serving and satisfying every guest. “Very tasty homemade food, amazing service, lots of locals who eat here. Very affordable. It’s a kanteen with good food, you can choose between meat and fish plate. Plates are big and tasty. The service is fabulous, the lady saw us struggling a bit with our hungry and grumpy toddler and asked what can she eat outside of menu. In the end our daughter ate very tasty sandwich that wasn’t on the menu and as well her fish plate. Desserts are really nice as well. So much better than a street away with all the tourist places.“

The 3 course menus are inexpensive and you have a lot of great options. The food while good is not best in class. We still visited 3 times during our stay and will come back when we come back to Madeira.“

“Outstanding! Our favourite place in Madeira by a mile. The service was impeccable. Standout dishes were the starter of goat cheese pastry with pumpkin chutney. And the two mains we had of grouper with lime and seaweed risotto and fish filet with coriander squashed bread. An excellent, modern and fresh twist on traditional cuisine - thank you!

Only drawback was how hot it was inside given it’s an open kitchen - would have appreciated some aircon“

“Not only a restaurant but also a great bakery! Food is very reasonably priced and great tasting. If you like tomatoes try their tomatoes soup...interesting! “Everything is top here. The service is one of the best among all the Michelin restaurants I’ve been to so far and the price is very reasonable. The chef was super generous with the truffle and the girl working there was like sunshine. She’s very attentive and we had some really interesting conversation about our dogs! The food is nicely presented and the combination of texture and color is extraordinary. We had the signature menu and loved it. If you are lactose intolerance, the alternatives are also very good. Everything is just above expectation and definitely worth the price you pay.

Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating if you have any food restriction and the alternatives are amazing too.
