“Omg thecabbage dish! In all the years I've lived on this earth, this is the most flavourful yet simple way of creating this dish. The garlic fried ribs were awesome too. Light airy and crispy. It was also very flavourful. The noodles lacked a little bit of flavour but I liked the chewy wide noodles a lot. The beef dish lacked a bit of flavour. It smelled great but it wasn't flavourful. The green beans tasted a litttlllee undercooked and compared for the cabbage dish, it was just ok.“

Sunday night is best if you want a personalized experience based on your preferences and the chefs’ suggestion. Friday and Saturday evenings are often filled with big tables of returning customers.

They took note of our preferences for seafood and suggested incredible sushi with amazing textures. The octopus and squid melt in the mouth. It was my second time here and I will definitely go back for a 3rd and even 4th time!

Gf thought the tom yum was okay. Egg rolls are standard lettuce filling. Won ton soup was great and chow mein satisfying even if it’s not the best I’ve had.

“YAMA is a Japenese restaurant located in Vogue Hotel. This was a convenient and easy option for us since we stayed at Vogue. We dined at YAMA our first evening and were pleasantly surprised. The menu had many vegetarian options for us, which we appreciated. Even for a Sunday evening, the bar and restaurant were steadily busy.
We ordered:
Starters: edamame and vegetable gyoza. The edamame was classic. The vegetable gyoza were cooked crispy and was served in a shallow bowl with a coriander infused citrus sauce. It was tasty, and balanced well.
Small plate/side: midori no ha maki roll is a vegetarian roll with fresh veggies, wrapped in lettuce as opposed to traditional seaweed. It was a simple roll with a burst of freshness. We ordered the truffle fries because our server said they were amazing. They did not disappoint.
Entree: we ordered the roasted eggplant for our entree. We did not know what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised. The eggplant is cooked so well that it melts in your mouth. It was topped various wild mushrooms cooked differently (i.e. some crispy). It was a mild dish packed with a lot of flavor.
Dessert: For dessert we ordered the chocolate praline mousse. This was insane. Imagine a hard chocolate shell bomb with a mousse filling. The exterior was a chocolate and hazelnut shell. This dessert satisfies all cravings: chocolate, crunchy, and crispy.
We were very pleased with the vegetarian options at YAMA.

The only downside is the price. You are paying hotel prices to dine here, but that should be expected.“

We were sitting in a dining room, the wall unit for the air conditioning was so dirty. When you walk into the restaurant, it smells damp, like there's water damage on the carpet. And the walls, you see that they haven't been washed for years. You see behind the scenes and the accumulation of dirt over the years ?“
