“As a chef, I can honestly say I’ve tried many restaurants in Ottawa. We cooks tend to spend our days off searching for that “holy grail” spot—where great food and exceptional service come together. While the food is obviously important, most of us agree that outstanding service can elevate the entire experience beyond the plate. At Rowan, both elements were perfectly aligned—and that’s a rare find in Ottawa. Amber, who works the bar like a true artist, greeted us with a warm smile, even though we arrived at the busiest time: a Saturday night, and without a reservation. She still managed to find us a great spot at the bar, where we enjoyed an incredible meal. The food was seriously delicious—beautifully presented, generously portioned, and incredibly fresh. The menu isn’t extensive, but that’s a big plus in my book—it means they can maintain top-quality mise en place and keep everything vibrant and consistent. I highly recommend the pork belly and the pakoras.“

“Myself and my 2 guests had brunch yesterday and everything about our experience was fantastic. We sat on the beautiful quiet patio and we were accommodated to move to the shade with no hesitation. The cocktails were delish and the food was "lick your plate if I could in public" next level! Our server was kind and professional and I hope to visit again next time I am in Ottawa 😊“

“We had our company Christmas Party here and from the get go the staff were very helpful. On the day of the party we were looked after to every detail. Food was amazing served buffet style and the bar staff and servers were great.

“I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast buffet. There was a delightful selection of pastries and 4 types of homemade preserves, fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, turkey, ham, sausage, potatoes, cheeses, cereals, yogurt amongst other delightfully items. It was $20 which included your beverage also. I highly recommend this breakfast buffet. 😊“

“Came too late for the breakfast poutine, but had for lunch the buffalo chicken wrap and soup of the day (leek & potato etc). Everything was so packed with flavor!!! Partner got wings that came with these fantastic little homemade pickles! Would love to come back. A humble little gem great for lunch/breakfast. I also enjoyed the decorations, especially all the water themed paintings/photographs.“

“My friend and I went here tonight for the first time. I had Butter chicken tacos,and my friend had Chicken salad, food was delicious. Service was excellent. We will definitely be back. Hopefully they get their liquor licence soon and business picks up,as it’s a great spot for dinner. I would highly recommend it.“

“Landsdowne Location-April 27,2025 Wonderful service by Jordan. Attentive, customer service focused, thoughtful and friendly for our group of 8. Food was excellent, hot, fresh, made to order and generous. Good wine and beer selection. Red sangria was excellent. We will be back. Highly recommend“

“If you are looking for great Sunday game-watching ambiance, look no further. This place is the perfect spot. Jordan, the bartender and our server was amazing, kind, friendly and knowledgeable. They had a large selection of drinks from local craft beers to domestic favourites, and even some cool non-alcoholic cocktails for those who want to join in without drinking. Food was delicious, drinks were great and they had every game playing on the TVs.“

“After my previous review, someone reached out to me to apologize for the miscommunication.I've been back a couple times and even had the cauliflower wings on the AYCE wings night.The house hot sauce is great, and the local beers are really great (shout out to the Limerick Stout - I lived in Limerick for a couple years and have even reached out to Evergreen to compliment them on a good quality Irish stout!)All the staff are super friendly and attentive and the energy is incredible during the Sens games.Happy to have this place local to my new apartment!
Vegetarian options: Not many vegetarian options, only the cauliflower wings, a salad, and nachos as far as I can recall. Nachos were good if maybe a bit pricey for the size.“
