“I just visited this small restaurant in downtown Montreal. The food is great, loved their kebabs, one of the best Persian Kababs in Montreal. I loved their style of serving hot kebab on Sangak bread with tomato. The owner and server were both nice but I just wished the place was more spacious and cleaner.“

“First time visiting Montreal to attend a conference. Staying at Sonder and these folks being pretty much next door, decided to try their burger. Got the simple cheese burger with jalapenos and onions. Juicy and tasty meat patty with a nice soft bun. Melt in your mouth. Regretted not getting a double. Might feel a bit low on portion size but worth it. Definitely recommend.“

“While we've been staying in Montreal, we have gotten food from this place several times. First off, this place has a vintage cozy interior with booths that look out onto the busy street. Second, the staff here is friendly, quick, and very organized. Lastly, the food is authentic and well prepared. Our favorite thing here is an all dressed steamy and the classic poutine. We really like their gravy!“

“May 2024: I go to this chicken rouge 4x weeks after the gym each time. The Staff is very professional, FAST and efficient. I always receive my order in less than 2 minutes or 5 when it's busy (I'm not even kidding). They fill the dishes well and even put 4 strips of chicken, I recommend 100%
Edit November 12, 2024: Incredible service again, The staff recognized me and FILLED MY BOWL, and even gave me 5 chicken strips, GOATED RED CHICKEN

“Great service today from the employee at the cash. She was kind and helpful when I mentioned my egg allergies. She suggested it was safer for me to remove the sauce from my order. The restaurant was clean as well as our table. Order came after about 10 mins and it was a lot of food. We were so full from a chicken wrap, hotdogs and poutine. I liked this place as it was convenient to get a quick bite. All the patrons were friendly and said by to the cashier as they left. Great experience and price point was reasonable for lunch.“

“This is our first meal when we first arrived in Montreal at 9 pm. It was raining and this is one of the nearest restaurant near our Airbnb. The grilled chicken on salad was great with many choice of condiment. We ordered two Rouge Bowls and two mini Rouge. There is option of white rice, brown rice or lettuce. It's like Chipotle but grilled chicken.“

“From the start, the service was efficient and friendly …..l was taking my adult son out for a late lunch. Once the tray was ready, l started to walk toward our table and tripped! One of our milkshakes flew off and made a total mess of the dining room floor. The staff did not blink an eye; l was given another milkshake and my mess was cleaned up within minutes! Not once did the staff make me feel bad; on the contrary l was left with my dignity! …….says a lot about the mentality of the Staff; it clearly starts at the top (management).“

“My friend and I went to order take out empanadas. We were greeted by the most beautiful and hospitable employee named Alexandra. She brightened up our day. Not only was she making the empanadas by hand but also making us feel welcomed. She wore gloves and made sure that everything looked and tasted amazingly. This restaurant is very lucky to have person like that taking care of their business. I highly recommend this place to anyone. And don’t forget to say “Hola” to Alexandra too! P.S. Omg! “We had yet to try Poutine on our visit to Montreal after visiting the Botanical Gardens and ran out of time to try what was suggested (Le Banquise). A maps search showed this place close by.
It was quite busy, but we ordered in short time and got our order of a large classic poutine quickly.
Overall our expectations were exceeded for what's labeled as fast food. We noticed that the fries were cooked to order. The gravy tasted good, but maybe a little sweet. The cheese curds were squeaky. The few fries not covered in gravy and cheese were crispy. Everything combined was great. We were able to eat about half of the large order in one sitting.“

“The service (which was fast btw) was freaking amazing, like the guy was super sweet and respectful, we ordered a hamburger with cheese (the toppings are free) and ribs. It was super delicious and you can even choose how you cook your meat for the burger. I would definitely come back! I find the place a bit empty for such a wonderful restaurant. *chief kiss*

“I stopped by Gerard Patates after a soccer match with my boys, and we were pleasantly surprised! The staff and owner were incredibly friendly, and the food was fresh and delicious. We ordered a submarine trio and two trio cheeseburgers, and everything was great. While we were eating, the staff surprised us with a complimentary plate of freshly made donut holes—at least 20 of them! It was such a thoughtful gesture, and the kids were thrilled. I can’t make it every week, but I’ll definitely be back once a month. Long live Gerard Patates!“
