“We had an early dinner here on a Sunday. We almost didn’t go in at first because it was completely empty but in the end we walked in and had a meal. We both got the beef pho with rare and brisket beef flank. IT WAS AWESOME. Pho is one of our favourite dishes and one that we’ve learned to essentially judge restaurants by. This place had absolutely delicious broth, perfectly tender noodles, lots of high quality beef, and a bountiful fixings. Also, the owner was super nice, and the room, while basic, had comfortable banquets. So you should do yourself a favour and get a nice bowl of noodles here to eat in or take out because one of the better noodle shops in the country is sitting right here in Montreal. Who knew?“

“This small place offered comforting phở soup. The decor was simple, bright and very clean. The service was novice. The phở Tái was good, with soft light-textured noodles, but the broth was overpowered by star anise. The cà phê sữa đá lacked the bold flavor expected of a traditional Vietnamese coffee.“

“Great neighborhood restaurant. I have been passing by since I moved into the area and was not disappointed once I decided to step in.
Our meal started with the imperial rolls (cha gio) and the papaya salad (without beef). The rolls were in my opinion the star of the night; generously filled and simply delicious. These are the imperial rolls you always hope for but rarely get. The papaya salad was fresh and well dressed - not spicy as their Thai counterpart usually is.
We followed our meal with bahn xeo - a crispy Vietnamese omelette/crêpe that was filled with chicken and a generous amount of bean sprouts, and Bun Cha Hanoi. The airy and crispy texture of the crepe is addictive to say the least and very enjoyable. The grilled bun cha meat was also very tasty!
In sum, Y Lan is a great restaurant where you can be sure to enjoy a great meal with great service.

“I ordered a pho boef saegnant with vegetables and OMG it was delicious😍The veggies were so fresh and varied and the taste of the pho was so great, good amount of noodles and beef. It was more than perfect!!! Loved it :) the staff is super friendly and the place has such a calm vibe with soft calming instrumental music. I am happy to have discovered this place. “Went there twice and was pleasantly surprised. I had the vegan Vietnamese crepe the first time & the vegan soup the second time. It was delicious each time.
They have an open kitchen so you can see, hear, smell your good being made which is part of the experience.

“Premier essai aujourd'hui pour deux : on a pris la soupe Pho Tai #10 et le poulet sauté à la citronnelle #33 et c'était vraiment trop bon. Le boeuf de la pho est vraiment tendre et les saveurs du #33 étaient immédiatement excellentes et au dessus de nos attentes à la première bouchée. Ils ont probablement le meilleur poulet citronnelle de Montréal, voir du Québec.“

“I have not been here for a long time, the place looks cozy and extremely clean. Tried their special namdo soup and spring roll, very clean taste and decent price, was $20.50 for everything included, which is quite reasonable for how things cost nowadays. “If you want to have a basic meal in the center of Montreal, go to this place. It's located inside a big building at a food court with few other vendors, so you will get some choice. The meals are quite basic, pho soup is not as sophisticated as in other restaurants, but it's a good budget place to eat when you are touring Montreal. Walk around, there is a beautiful passage with a glass roof and a fountain, also some shops.

“Their Banh Mí is a must try! I tried their grilled chicken Banh Mí and they did not skip out on any of the ingredients. It was PACKED with flavours and meat and if you can handle the spice, try going for the spicy option as they have a complimentary bubble tea with every Banh Mí. It’s a great place to try out good Vietnamese food in the city of Montreal.“

“We've been coming for 4 years, I can't say which dish is the best, they're all good. Ultra fast service, inexpensive for the quantity and quality. Generous portions. Possibility of ordering and delivery by Uber eat. Also very fast. I highly recommend it.

“Youn't have pho here but that's they offer the most authentic food from Mekong Delta of Vietnam that most Vietnamese restaurants won't have. On top of great food, great cleanliness, their warthm and hospitality are so genuine!“

“Went here for a quick lunch. This is an no-frills pho restaurant. I foolishly did not order pho, which I started regretting right after ordering and seeing everybody else’s soups. Once I received my piping hot beef curry, and took my first bite, all my regrets dissipated. My food was delicious with a good portion. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and seasoned, as was the beef and without any fat or gristle.“

“Happened to be in the area, walked in on a whim right before closing and i am so pleasantly surprised!! I got the tofu banh mi and it is huge and delicious. It checks all the boxes: the bread is fluffy, the pickled veggies are fresh, and the tofu is flavourful. The guy working here was also super friendly with a smile on his face. Thank you :))“
