“As our usual pho restaurant was closed, we decided to try this one. The menu is extensive, and consists of a strange mix of Vietnamese, Chinese, and Thai dishes. We ordered the XL phos and the spring rolls. The pho was pretty good, and the XL size was very generous with meats. The bean sprouts and basil leaves served with the pho were very fresh. On the other hand, the spring rolls were just overfilled with rice noodles and tasted bland, so would not recommend. Overall, a very decent pho experience, although not our favorite.“

“AWESOME FOOD WHICH IS WHY I TRIED SERVICE SO SO, DECOR AWFUL. The food here is absolutely awesome and is the main reason I decided to try this place. The flavors were excellent, the dishes were well prepared, and everything tasted fresh and authentic. If you are looking for good Asian food, this restaurant definitely delivers when it comes to taste and quality of the meals.
However, the service was only so-so. It wasn’t terrible, but it also wasn’t particularly attentive or welcoming. There is definitely some room for improvement in that area.
The decor was unfortunately the weakest part of the experience. The dining area felt outdated and not very inviting, which took away a bit from the overall atmosphere.
That said, the food really stands out, and if you focus on the great flavors, it can still be a worthwhile place to visit.“

“Pokai is a charming place! The decor is thoughtful and the wood-paneling makes for a cozy space. The service is rapid and the owner is always so so welcoming. Both the poke bowls and the banh mi are consistently fresh and delicious, and the prices are fair. I wholeheartedly recommend for a quick bite or a longer lunch with friends!!“

“I had the flank beef pho and chicken imperial rolls and they were both delicious. I appreciated that the pho didn't taste like it was loaded with sodium. I took the small size of the pho and it was quite filling. I didn't have to wait long for the food. The restaurant is quite small and can fit only three tables but makes for a more intimate setup. I didn't see any restrooms.“

“Got the #20 clay pot fish with a side of rice about 4 months ago and it was so flavorful and fragrant I still think about it quite often. Owners were friendly and helping despite barely speaking an ounce of French or English and prices were more than fair. “Line up can get really crazy and nothing is worth hours of waiting. Especially when it goes out the door and you have to stand in the staircase going up. Parking is a little difficult to find. They specialize in a Vietnamese dish called Hu Tieu and you can have it either dry with soup on the side or noodles in the soup. It is typically simple and easy to make with lots of cheap ingredients. But if you aren't cooking this for a lot of people, this is a quick easy way to get your Hu Tieu fix. Dough fritters are really good too. If you are in Montreal, I would recommend this as cheap eats but excellent value and taste for the price. Ate here a few times and it has been consistent which I also look for when handing out 5/5 stars.“

“We call in last minute on a Friday, 8pm, group of 25+. They accepted us even though their kitchen closed at 9pm.
They never made us feel rushed, they were extremely welcoming. Food was delicious!!!!

“I was pleasantly surprised by my visit to this restaurant.
I am a regular at Vietnamese restaurants and it is often quite the same from one restaurant to another.
I ordered a Combo C (Grilled Beef and Chicken) but this time I found everything to be really delicious, a cut above the others.
Even dessert, fried pineapple, usually at others, there is a scoop of ice cream by default, but at La Perle, no ice cream, just two donuts in syrup.
Well despite that, it's the best pineapple donut I've tasted in this type of restaurant.
The service was courteous and fast. Nothing to complain about.“
