I first had a lox bagel here four years ago and fell in love. It was perfect. I travelled the world a fair bit over the last four years and have always been disappointed by other lox bagels that pales in comparison. Today I came back to Montreal and went straight to Caffè Mille Gusti to have a lox bagel and I was not disappointed! I’m not sure exactly what makes it so perfect - the bagel quality? The lox quality? The ratio of cream cheese to lox to bagel to capers to onions?...
There is good reason this place has the high reading it does. Not only is the food absolutely incredible (see the photo of the cannoli) but the atmosphere is warm, wonderful, and inviting, thanks to the shelves stocked full of wonderful Italian imports but most of all Joe and Jen's hospitality. I merely went there to buy a small box of cannoli to bring to a dinner party, but they made me feel like I was a king. FYI they fill their cannoli to order - nothing remotely soggy,...
randomly dropped in with some friends while looking for a place to grab a coffee. We were greeted like regulars by Joe and Jen and felt right at home while we enjoyed great coffee they served. We did not have any food as we just had brunch, however will be back again as it all looked delicious.
