Chez Maxim Oriental offers a wide variety of drinks and plenty of vegetarian options. The interior is beautifully decorated, although the music could use improvement. The chef even surprised us with complimentary Fried milk balls. The presentation of the dishes is impressive, although some wished the deep-fried food was crunchier. The portions are reasonable, and the tea is flavorful. The service is lively and friendly, and the food is served quickly. The restaurant may look worn from the outside, but the interior decor is pleasant. The Salt & Pepper Squid is cooked to perfection, with a crunchy batter and tender squid. The fried rice is fresh and soft, not like some places with old rice. The seafood is incredibly fresh, with dishes like lobster sauce shrimp being a standout. The prices are very good for the amount of food you get, and the staff is welcoming.
