The doorman Davide and Our waitress were amazing. I highly recommend this place in old Montreal.

Meh. Faux upscale. Not very good.

Bartender lady shoved me out of the way extremely hard and I just arrived waiting for my turn to order a drink. Yes I understand it’s an extremely overstimulating and stressful environment but maybe hire someone who can handle that and won’t put their hands on their customers. I was shoved so hard I can actually press charges for it. Do better and hire better people. This happened July 4 but technically the 5th since it was around 1am. She was wearing a white halter top that night, and she was a black lady. Pretty girl but you should not be hiring violent workers. Thanks.

Great vibe and service. Wide variety of drinks but didn’t try any of the food. Great location. There is construction going on but I would say it’s not their fault since it’s outside lol. I see other reviews grading the place poorly due to that. Will be visiting again.

We went here on a Sunday night when the bar was basically empty. Getting there was tough with all the construction. The espresso martinis were watered down. At one point, the whole bar came together to enjoy a song (Iris), and the small bar started to create a beautiful vibe. Everyone was singing. Then the bartenders stopped the song halfway through, killing the vibe. Maybe we would have stayed if the vibes were good, but this bar does not know how to create or maintain one. We left as soon as this happened.

Horrible service, we were 2 guys 1 girl visiting from the US, they refused us at the door saying we have to be equal ratio of men & women. What is this about the 15th century? The guy at the door was also rude about it, we were dresses so nicely and told him we were visiting so we can’t control that

The DJ wanst very good always changing the song every two seconds and for the vodka with cranberry i honestly paid 11$ for a half glass of cranberry juice there was no taste of vodka whatsoever i’ve could have gotten a better deal at a grocery store if i just wanted to drink cranberry juice. I could have been a better DJ myself.

Philemon Bar in Old Port, Montreal, offers a chic and vibrant atmosphere, perfect for a lively night out. The bar’s modern, industrial design combined with its cozy ambiance makes it a great spot to unwind or catch up with friends. The music selection is excellent, often featuring live DJs, which enhances the overall experience.

The drinks menu is well-curated with a variety of cocktails, beers, and wines. The bartenders are skilled and friendly, always ready to recommend something new if you’re undecided. The crowd is generally upbeat, contributing to a fun and energetic vibe throughout the night.

However, the bar can get quite crowded, especially on weekends, which might make it challenging to find a spot to sit. The prices are also on the higher side, but the quality of drinks and the ambiance justifies it.

Overall, Philemon Bar is a fantastic choice for those looking to enjoy a lively evening in Old Port, offering great drinks, music, and atmosphere. It’s definitely worth a visit, though be prepared for a bustling crowd and slightly steeper prices.

Formerly known as a cozy Montreal place in the Old Port, this place now represents degradation of "Philemon" label. I visited this place during last 10 years or even more. I guess change of owner has ruined this place. Some people at the entrance looked like homeless, but not securities of the bar. Who is the owner? Where is the original owners of this place? All my friends who visited this place recently complained about quality of drinks and service. Last night I wanted to get in, but not admitted. So, I recommend not to go to this place because it is the shame of Montreal and the Old Port. Please avoid this place!
