Steak Frites St-Paul

We had been there in the past. We found to quality of the steak to be improved over years past. We like the cauliflower bite appetizers, the new york strip and fries were delicious. All steaks were cooked to the correct degree of doneness. Its really nice to be able to bring our own bottle of wine to the meal as well.

Food and service was fantastic. Definitely would go again. BYO wine is also a big advangtage financialy.

Skip the fried/baked goat cheese, but definitely try the steak and frites! And don't forget, bring your own wine! (they don't sell alcohol and you can save a few dollars by bringing the wine you love)

Just poor - steak cut was no good - flank undercooked - ribeye undercooked - in going out was just the chef on shift. However many reviews line up with my experience. To be called a steak frites place and have one of the worst steaks I've ever had. Terrible. Now for a 37 dollar steak I do not expect much. But this truly under delivered

Overall, Steak et Frites was an okay experience. The food was satisfactory, nothing extraordinary, and the service was adequate, though not particularly friendly or attentive. We were not asked if our meal was okay. The ambiance was pleasant, but not particularly unique or memorable. While we wouldn't say we were disappointed, we wouldn't particularly recommend or rush back either.

Customer services bad. I called in for being late. The guy yelled n swore at us.

The service definitely changed. No bread was offered, we needed to ask for it. This restaurant is known for “unlimited fries” no one goes around and offers them anymore. Also, there was a “fire alarm” to the attached building, the staff acted like nothing happened. When I played the online reservation I indicated the reason of our outing, again- the staff wasn’t bothered. Won’t be going back.

Went for Sunday Easter and had reserved ahead of time. They knew how many people we were and when we came to order they didn’t have the New York Steak and Mussles. They had the New York steak advertised on the board as suggested by the chef 🧑‍🍳. Maybe they should have removed it nevertheless when I go to a steak restaurant I expect the restaurant to have the steak I enjoy. They proposed a higher price steak which I did not have a choice to take. Very disappointing and never going back.

Bring your own wine! Food is consistently good, staff knowledge is detailed.

Shared a meal with some friends as we were visiting from the U.S. Had an awesome experience here. The service was top notch and the food was great. BYOB was a plus. Would definitely visit again if we return to Montreal.

The service is great. Loved my server and the vibe of the restaurant. The food was just meh, my steak was under seasoned, and my calamari was over salted. I'm just overall disappointed.

This has been on of My favourite place for a filet mignon for almost two decades but it hasn’t been the same since the Pandemic … my recent lunch the food took an hour to arrive, my filet mignon ordered medium rare was burnt well done …and dry … we had to ask for bread which has dwindled to a micro roll, and my rushed Macchiato was undrinkable … sadly nothing stays the same …

I love this restaurant and the atmosphere was pumping and it just had a great vibe and the food was so good. I started with a French onion soup and the broth was so rich and tasty. The soup was just delicious. Of course they had other things on the menu, but I went for the strip steak with fries and green beans. I did have the peppercorn sauce, which was just phenomenal and ended up having to order another pot of it to dip my fries into. The steak was cooked just right and was really really tasty despite eating so much. I did have a dessert which was good also. Great place for a bit of steak!!
