“La Diperie in Pointe-Claire is the favourite ice cream spot for my wife and I. We love the choices of dips and coatings and the ice cream is of an excellent quality. BUT I did not give full stars for service because for some reason the opening hours are often not respected. On multiple occasions when the shop is posted as being open we are majorly disappointed when we arrive and the doors are locked. The latest time was this past Saturday in mid afternoon, probably the last beautiful summery weather day on a weekend for 2024...and it was closed up tight! So we went down the street and made do with another ice cream shop. The word of advice if you don't want to be disappointed is to call ahead, don't believe what you see posted on Google for the 'open' status, it's often not correct.
UPDATE: The response from the La Diperie Team was also disappointing, they completely ignored the complaint about not respecting their opening hours. Am I to presume no effort will be made to correct this pattern?“

“Edit 2026: From 5 stars to 4 stars. They changed their pistachios & mascarpone recipe for an obvious inferior version, most likely to cut cost, its now a let down of a flavor.

I am mind blown by the Pistachios & Mascarpone and the Rhum Chocolate. I think this is the best gelato I ever had in my life. Hands down the best in Laval, I hope they open one in Montreal“

“Been going to this DQ every year for who knows how long now since I was living nearby but now that I moved out of my parent's place it's one thing i definitely miss about Lachine. Eating ice cream near the Lachine canal is such a goated routine, they have lots of options for cakes, slushies, hotdogs, and other stuff that other Dairy Queen locations doesn't have as well! “Really nice spot for ice cream right next to the bike path, making it very well located and popular on sunny days.
It can get quite crowded during peak times.
The menu is very large with lots of choices, though there’s nothing especially new or original.
The place is clean and kid-friendly, and they even provide wet wipes to clean little faces after treats.
There are a few picnic tables under a covered area as well as benches along the parking lot.
There’s also a simple mini putt activity, which is fun for kids.
The only downside was the cashier chatting with friends for several minutes while a long line was waiting.
Overall, still a great stop for a family treat.“

The worker who made the design was super sweet, both over the phone and in person and made sure that the cake was everything we asked for. “Delicious treats cold and hot. They have awesome ice cream, smoothies, milk shakes, cookies, cakes, crepes and mini donuts too! The cakes are from the Cheesecake Factory, which mean they are extra tasty!
The dipping options are vast. From the regular fan favorite chocolate dipped to the salted caramel, pistachios and so much more.
The best part is, they have a loyalty card. They stamp it and you get a reward after 9 stamps. Woot woot! Each separate product is a stamp. Have a sweet one!“

“Wanted to try everything here! The sweets here are delicious, and service is bilingual and friendly.

We all had soft ice cream dipped in different toppings:
- dark chocolate and brownie
- cotton candy
- salted caramel
All were sooooo damned good!

Our lattes were alright, but not amazing (it's an ice cream/dessert shop, so that's what I'm evaluating them for, after all).

Enjoyed our visit, will be back.

“I was super impressed with this location! Given its location, I was anticipating walking in and having a language barrier almost immediately. So to my surprise, when they spoke English and French I was deeply impressed and very grateful.

I ordered a small Sunday and a mango smoothie both were delicious and absolutely did what I needed them to do. Which was cool me down on an extremely hot day on the bike after a long ride back from Vermont.

I highly recommend this location.“
