“What a beautiful gem! Just steps from Dorchester Square, which we visited after our Montréal at Night bus tour, we stopped into Bar Dominion for drinks and a snack. This gorgeous old bar opened in 1927 and has been lovingly maintained in its original style. The food, drinks, and service were excellent. Our waiter, Tim, was incredibly friendly, provided outstanding service, and knew so much about the menu and the bar’s history—even though it was only his second day on the job! Can’t wait to come back!“

“I love visiting Montreal for all the wonderful restaurants it has to offer, but my favorite, and the one I always return to, is Le 409 in Old Montreal. Just the fun, eclectic décor is worth coming for, but the food and service is what will bring you back again and again. Some of the best Indian food I've had. I just love this place!“

“Un lieu que je fréquente à l’occasion et qui ne déçoit jamais. Chez Les Insulaires, on vient d’abord pour la bière — et on reste pour l’expérience. La Phare et la Lux brillent franchement parmi leurs créations : chacune bien construite, expressive, avec cette touche d’élégance qui fait qu’on y revient. Le Blanton’s Old Fashioned m’a aussi franchement séduit : soigné, précis, avec juste ce qu’il faut d’aplomb. Le service ? Sympathique, attentif, à l’image de l’endroit. Le décor est soigné, réfléchi, avec du style et de la personnalité. Le hall d’entrée, avec son architecture de haut niveau, annonce d’emblée un lieu conçu avec goût et maîtrise. “The place is good but as for the exterior we will come back! An old building with straight lines a bit like beer glasses...but what matters is what's inside!!😁
Inside it is welcoming, warm and well decorated with courteous and friendly staff.
I was there in December for a quick stop with colleagues before going to the office Christmas party a little later which meant that we only had 1 or 2 drinks.

The beer that is brewed on site turned out to be excellent and allowed us to have a great time with friends in a relaxed atmosphere where it was possible to hear each other talk!

“Having delightful food and flavours in an airy space with an amazing view and excellent service is the best way to have a light lunch in downtown Montreal to break up the work day. The fowl dish was memorable as well as the sweetbread tempura that came with the veal dish.“

“Average service and a little long. The waitress was there at the beginning to sell drinks but once this step was finished, only one visit to bring our meal. The prices are average high but the meal was excellent. The starter was very good, a little expensive for the portion. The fries were well seasoned and the ribs had lots of meat. The lychee sangria was fresh and delicious. Overall the taste makes up for the price. But the service needs to be improved. Other people who accompanied us never received their starter and had to ask another waitress to get their plate. The bathrooms are very well maintained.

Parking: Large parking lot but the spaces are small and there seems to be a small arena next door. So the parking lot fills up very quickly during events.“

“Stopped in for drinks only. Got our 1st order in quickly but both my wife and I finished our drinks and had to flag down the waitress to get new drinks. Drinks were good but expensive. Not sure if they were short staffed on servers that night but we were definitely not attended to as we should have been. Would try again if in town again though.“
