Bristol Oyster Bar Reviews
The staff is top notch which unfortunately is becoming rare these days in restaurants. The food was delicious, oysters were some of the best I’ve ever eaten. 5 Stars from South Georgia!
Amazing food in the reopening! It has always been excellent but the current group of small hot and cold plates are awesome. Very seafood forward and elevated. We heard the menu is going to change frequently to reflect what’s seasonal and local but we had an amazing diver scallop with dashi & dumpling, swordfish bites, a gorgeous salad with pickled veg, salmon poke bowl, gazillions of oysters, fresh and light crab cakes and inventive twist on calamari. Menu
The Bristol Oyster Bar offers a delightful dining experience, perfect for various occasions. The menu features fresh oysters, with the chef crafting small plates like the pork belly snack, smoked trout pate snack, crab cake, and salmon. Guests enjoy the raw bar, including the buck-a-shuck oysters and little necks, complemented by the spectacular jalapeño shallot mignonette. The restaurant also provides a flavorful gluten-free clam chowder and regularly updated local items. Attentive service and a pleasant atmosphere create an enjoyable experience, with the manager being very accommodating. While the menu focuses on tapas-style small plates, some guests thoroughly enjoyed dishes like the burrata, mushroom fricassee with green beans, and buttery Delmonico potatoes with bacon. The house rosé is a delicious and good value option. Reviewers praise the excellent service and beautiful presentation of the dishes, highlighting the flavorful tapas, including the swordfish and steak, with sauces so good they ordered bread to finish the meal. The smoked fish pâté was excellently paired with pickled veggies. While some dishes like the pork rillette were good, others stood out more. The personable chef adds to the overall charm of the restaurant.
