Though I grew up in Glocester, I moved away many years ago. Of all the things I miss about RI, family and food are at the top of the list, with clams (fried with bellies and clam cakes) above all other foods. We went to the Clam Shack last night for the first time( Saturday night around 6:30 pm). Orders were being taken and orders were being filled for take-out or to dine at the two shaded areas adjacent to the building. The lady at the counter was very organized, efficient and friendly. She made sure that everyone was told it would take at least 20 minutes for orders to be ready as everything is cooked to order. Great little spot ! Find it going west on Old Hartford Pike in North Scituate, RI. The clam cakes were hot and spongey. The white chowder was great too! The owners were welcoming and friendly. Look forward to trying the fish and chips and red chowder.
