Went in for lunch at 1:50 pm. Received menu after 10 minutes. It was quite empty inside with most people at the bar area. Waited 15 more minutes, and still no one to offer water or take order. Walked out. Definitely a no go unless you have a lot of time to spare.

Took a friend and client here for a celebratory drink since they’re from Chicago and sports fans and the service was pretty inattentive. We walked up to the bar to order and the bartender said they’d send a server over but she looked annoyed that she even had a table to serve.

My husband and I were out late trying to find food and thankfully Mac's kitchen closes at 11! We came in at 9:45, all the places around kitchen closed at 10 so Mac's saved the day. I ordered a pecan and cranberry salad and tomato basil soup and my husband ordered the fish and chips, we were tired so we placed the order to go. The prices were perfect. Everything tasted great. We watched basketball and hockey while we waited for our food. Great experience!

Great drop in Spot. Had beer flights and a Hot Irish ☘️ Coffee. The cheese stuffed pretzel w/marinara was a great snack. Busy, fun and friendly/professional staff.

Meh. The server was awesome, but the food was pretty mediocre. The Reuben had the chewiest corned beef I've ever had. Caesar salad was absolutely drowned in dressing. And the blaring metal rock music made conversation nearly impossible.

It is a tavern for sure. I had a Rueben it was a little too toasted. Meat was tough. We had Irish nachos. They were ok. My daughter liked her Mac & cheese bites. Price wasn’t bad- husband said the fish was like a fish stick.

This occurred last year but I can’t seem to shake it. My friends and I went into Macs place after Blind Tiger closed and was shewed away for being too young and also wouldn’t let my friend use the bathroom. We are 22, and was told “this isn’t a child care guys” from the bartender. First off, the place had arcade machines and looks like a child’s play den and also a roach ran across the floor, but that is beside the point. And also we are 22. I didn’t cause trouble then and there because it was late and honesty just went to use the bathroom and get a drink thereafter. Really just embarrassing for a Charleston bar and it’s horrible in there anyways but sometimes I remind myself of this incident and get pissed.

Jan 2025. Marjie and I got lunch at Mac’s to prep for our Ghost tour. Hot Roast beef and some Irish stew fit the bill for a cold, drizzly afternoon. Also some clever music choices played on the sound system.

The bouncer at Mac’s deserves a Nobel Peace Prize… for not absolutely annihilating us when we were drunken, belligerent morons. Instead, he opted for a gentle, hands-on lesson in humility. A true professional. Five stars. Can’t wait to disappoint him again next weekend!

We had a group in Mac's this past Friday night to celebrate my son's 23rd Birthday. Had a great time until closing time and the bouncer forcefully removed two of his friends from the bar. We had a group of 12 of us and were treated like scum. The problem I have is how he handled the situation while allowing about 12 patrons to sit at the bar and finish their drinks. The atmosphere and experience was a lot of fun until the bouncer overstepped his boundaries. Beware of this guy and his attitude at the end of the night. I told Charleston police about how the situation was handled and rounded up our crew to disperse. Hopefully the owners will reel this bouncer to eliminate future problems.
