Mario's Italian Ristorante offers a terrific dining experience with great service, atmosphere, and outstanding food. The restaurant is known for its fun and outgoing servers who engage with customers, even challenging them to pronounce the Italian dish names. While the service can be inconsistent at times, the food is consistently delicious and comes out quickly.
The menu is small but features very simple Italian dishes like tasty pizzas, including the margherita pizza, and pasta with great gravy and Alfredo sauce. The lasagne and charcuterie platter are delicious, and salads are fantastic. Wine is expensive while beer is relatively cheap. Prices are fair, making it a great family-friendly spot in Downtown Charleston, often filled with families and kids. Vegetarian options include pasta dishes and pizzas. Though the food is consistent, it may not blow you away, but they do what they do right. Service is fast, though not always warm or friendly.
