“Excellent food and service. Among the best Korean restaurants in Columbia. Our party ordered the Spicy Pork Bulgogi, Beef Bulgogi, Bibimbop and several appetizers including Kimchi Pajeon, Mandu and Tteokbokki. All were excellent as were the various Banchan. We were very impressed with the quality of the food and the speed of the service. The owner, a Korean lady, was very friendly and kind. With the demise of O'Bok and the rumored upcoming sale of Hero, Gangnam is a great addition to Columbia's stable of Korean restaurants. We will be returning soon!“
“Fancy Korean Fare. The only one I've found with Pork Belly on the menu. It's an elevated atmosphere and elegant bar. But there's always a But when a perfect star rating is missing a star... When I travel the culinary world I want to feel I'm dining in a foreign country. I've tried holes in the wall mom and pop establishments and they all played American radio!!“
“We had a lot of fun here and will definitely be back, but I admit the meal was a bit stressful for me alone with my two tween/teen boys.We did the barbecue format. The server was attentive to come back and ask what we needed and such, but the way the food is brought at this location involves the raw plates just being dropped at the table. I found myself trying to manage sauces/spices that we had gotten from the bar, raw meat, cooked meat, and everything else in close proximity. It was easy to get confused in the moment and forget about which plates and utensils had touched raw food versus which ones had only touched cooked food increasing the risk of cross contamination. I feel like if I go again on a busy night where the server has many tables to attend to, that I need to set up a system from the start to help account for that.It is almost 48 hours later and no one got sick though. So maybe I am worrying too much over nothing. I will say though that I am fairly chill about things like this, and if it was worrying me a little bit, then I know someone who is very much about food safety would have a harder time with it.My only other complaint is that right up front the server had to give this entire speech about how we were limited to 120 minutes at the table, we weren't allowed to get food that we didn't end up eating, etc. I understand that it these things are to prevent abuse, but it was a bit heavy-handed and I think the restaurant could say it less so. It was also a bit annoying that the entire table has to pick either KBBQ or hot pot. You're paying $30+ a head, is there really that big of a concern to offer both? (You can get both for an extra surcharge per head)Despite all these nitpicks, as you can see, my rating is still very good. I will definitely return. With a bit of smoothing out of the process on their side, it could easily be a 5/5 experience though.“
“This Korean family-style restaurant is incredibly clean and inviting. The unlimited complimentary side dishes are a fantastic touch. The fish cakes were exceptionally tasty, and the seafood pancake had wonderfully fresh octopus. The stone pot bibimbap was served at just the right temperature, and I absolutely loved it ~^_^Overall, a great dining experience!“
“ISO AUTHENTIC Korean. Like someone's Korean grandma that cooks with the heart! Which is who greeted us in this very casual market and restaurant adventure . While I waited for my SPC army daughter, (was stationed in Korea) I ventured into the specialty market. A trip into Korean cuisine. I felt I was definitely in another country. I had my heart set on pork belly as I saw they had on the menu. Unfortunately we have to cook it tabletop ourselves. As a chef myself, I go out to be cooked for so I ordered spicy Squid. It satisfied my traveling craving search for Korean grandma's cooking. My children's favorite is still the competition down the block which I detoured from because I wanted the elusive pork belly. My coffee was cold and instant. I'd definitely shop here for the necessary specialty ingredients when I put on my Korean chef's hat!“
“I have tried a lot of different flavors including: taeyong, lemon pepper ( both the wet and dry seasoning) soy honey etc. I would say all of them are very delicious and I am kinda addicted to this place just that it is a bit pricey. I really recommend the honey garlic.“
“If you’re looking for Authentic Korean food, this is it. Since I’m Korean, I would know. lol. They have well prepared meals and their side dishes will amaze you. Simply the best in town.Kid-friendliness: What a great way to share an experience of another culture and their cuisine? Enjoy!“
“The food was so AMAZING! I ordered the Kimichi jjigae and the flavor was out of this world. I immediately had to write this review after finishing the bowl. I loved how the dumplings were vegetables and tofu. the waiter was by himself but he was great. 10/10 “
“This was our first time getting Korean Hot Pot and BBQ. We had a fantastic time. Our server Phillip was incredible. He took the time to explain everything to us, answered our questions, and kept checking in on us throughout the meal. The selection of seafood and meat was impressive, and we left stuffed and happy. The ability to try very small portions of new things was a serious bonus.I was worried about going on a Saturday night, but we had no wait. We will definitely be back.“
“I wish I could give 10 stars for the service and food. this place had a very authentic feel to it. we came about an hour before they closed but our waitress didn't seem to mind. she was the sweetest person ever she answered all the questions and didn't get frustrated. The Hibachi Table is not electric she brought out a pail of wood pieces that was lit on fire. we all cooked our usual dishes and tried several new ones 10 ?“
“The restaurant had been redone recently, so the inside was clean and nice. Service was great and the food was delicious! Bulgolgi was like I remember it from Seattle area Asian American cuisine and the BBQ chicken was awesome. Highly recommend!“
“MOA is a great addition to the food scene in Columbia and I love the Main Street location. It's right in the heart of everything. Fabulous selection and excellent service from the moment we walked in until we finished our goat cheesecake.“
