“The food, service, and atmosphere was off the chain!!! Great place to eat and hangout!!!“

“Sunday brunch at Ruby Sunshine was a nice mix of sweet and savory. I ordered the chicken and waffles with a side of cheesy grits, while my friend chose the shrimp and grits. The chicken had a crisp coating, and the waffles were fluffy with lightly browned edges. The grits were creamy and went well with the savory dishes. The dining room had a busy brunch crowd, but the staff kept things moving without making us feel rushed.“

“Ordered lunch via doordash and everything was truly delicious. I live out in the Irmo area and the food was still warm when it arrived. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients and the care put into preparing the meal.“

“Got a Chiken Biscuit, Chili Cheese Hot Dog, and a Large Sweet Tea.
Food is pretty good and the people there are rather nice.
The prices are rather very affordable as where most would charge your more money for the same things.

Would Highly Recommend trying them out for yourself.

Good Breakfast and Lunch.“

“Everything was great. Been trying to get there for the burger for a year. My wife got something with shrimp. The burger was crazy, different, and so good. My wife's meal was good as well. Atmosphere and staff were off the chain. Only draw back was no diet soda for our drinks - my wife is diabetic.“

“Had the best meal here today! Get the strawb12therry shortcake-it was amazing. We tried the ribs,pulled pork,brisket, greens, Mac n cheese, and cornbread. I personally liked the dark, thick red sauce (Ga Folks it's good!) but they give you three sauces to go with the bbq. Warning- the greens are kinda on the sweet side- they're different. They're not nasty but not your regular greens. Awesome jewel in Columbia!“

“We went to Luzianna Purchase's 2nd evening, 5 course dinner and it was fabulous! Each course had a wine pared with it that made it very elegant. Thomas and Mary Katherine explained each course and where the ingredients came from. The atmosphere was warm and personal; we entered as strangers and left with new friends.“

“This is one of my favorite spots in Columbia! They have an amazing rooftop with great energy. You can get food up there too although the menu is slightly limited and more geared towards small plates-- which makes sense for a rooftop anyway! In the main dining area service is excellent. I could eat the mushroom toast every day- it's that good! As a wine professional I appreciate their thoughtful selections, there's something for everyone. Much love!“

I took a suggestion from another review and ordered a “cookie butter latter with caramel drizzle and cold foam.” 10/10 I love it. I would’ve definitely gotten it sweeter but it is sweet. And it was only $6.11!!!

“This place is so good! Colin was our server he gave amazing recommendations that we all loved. We had an allergy at our table and he made sure to check and let us know what was it which dish. He recommended the Viet Cajun Sandwich which was worth going back and having again. We also had the shrimp and grits. Let me tell you go now and get them! Highly highly recommend this place. We will for sure be going back.“

One of the best parts is how affordable it stays, especially compared to a lot of other quick lunch spots. It’s the kind of place you can rely on for a solid meal without overthinking it or overspending.

“I wanted to rave about the manager, Eddie, and chef, Jonathan. On Friday, I inquired about accommodating my stringent dietary restrictions, and they proactively exceeded expectations. My requirements included the exclusive use of pure olive oil in the preparation of my meal. Initially, I expressed concern that my options might be limited to broccoli and a simple salad. Manager Eddie assured me that this was unacceptable and suggested I contact the chef the following day to discuss my needs. Following this conversation, Chef Jonathan promptly developed a suitable solution. I ordered the brick chicken, prepared using only olive oil, rosemary, and thyme—a dish perfectly aligned with my dietary limitations. The meal was exquisite, and I thoroughly enjoyed dining with my friends. accommodate my very strict food intolerances, and they went out of their way to do just that. I needed my dishes to be cooked in pure olive oil, amongst other things. At first, I told Eddie it looked like I could only have broccoli and a salad with minimal toppings. He said, "You can't come here and just eat salad and broccoli." He then said to call the next day, and he would get the chef on the phone to discuss my food concerns. I called the next day, and Jonathan quickly had an idea. I ordered the brick chicken, which only had olive oil, rosemary, and thyme. Exactly what I was able to eat. It was delicious, and I was so thrilled to eat out with my friends. I so appreciate both of them going out of their way for me.“

So when it came time for our daughter's baptism this morning when we found out the Gourmet Shop offered a catering menu it became a no brainer for us. The catering options on a per head basis for 12 people were an incredible value. Our guests, many of whom do not live downtown now want to make it a point to visit the restaurant.
