“It's been a long while since I've been here, but as always, I'm never disappointed!! There's a reason they're always packed! The food is some of the best Mexican food you can get in our area and the menu prices make it even better! Also, I've never been there and felt like I wanted to hurry up and leave because the people who come and eat they're are just as great! Highly recommended if you're looking for AUTHENTIC Mexican food!!!!!!!Parking: It's a very small lot so parking can definitely be a challenge. We can usually get pretty lucky and catch someone leaving though.“
“This place is awesome, the food is great and the staff was very nice. The places was advised to us by our friend that is from Mexico and she loved it.Parking: The parking is tight as it is a small location and very busy. It is worth it if you can find a spot.“
“Went here for lunch. I just can't resist a good taco and they were good! The atmosphere was just right to relax a bit before heading back to work. I sat down to take the load off, ordered my food, and then I quickly knocked down 3 tacos like bowling pins! BAM!!! I can't lie I thought about getting more. Can you say gluttony? Lol ??. They make it hard on you but I resist the urge and came back to the office. So in short... Everything was so lovely. Try them out.“
“Just do yourself a favor and get an order of three birria tacos and a cup of horchata. The line is usually wrapped around inside the building, for a reason. Well worth the wait, and they work pretty quickly to get the orders out. I'm getting hungry again just thinking about it.“
“This is my favorite place to recommend people who are looking for authentic food. Usually I know the food will be good when I walk in, it’s not too busy, and there’s a family behind the counter cooking. This is the experience I have coming here and I’ve gotten consistently good food every time. Not too pricey, great for a delicious quick bite!“
“Everything was Outstanding! Delicious flavors, Steak Dobladitas was amazing - added the mushrooms as well and it was the best I've ever had, mango margaritas were fantastic! Really good service, too. I'll definitely go back when I'm in Columbia SC!“
“Hands down one of the best fajitas I ever had. Meat and veggies tasted fresh and food was seasoned just right. Waitress served food fast and hot.Parking: There is a free lot on side of the building. There’s also paid garages nearby.Kid-friendliness: Waitress was friendly to my boy and made sure to keep hot plates away from him.“
“Very authentic and super affordable Mexican restaurant right next to the freeway. Had their chicken fajita for 2 for lunch. It was delicious and the quantity was just perfect! They have amazing drinks on the menu too. Their chips and salsa were amazing too! I personally loved their hot sauce served on the side with chips and salsa.Parking: Many parking spots in the complexKid-friendliness: Kid friendly menu“
“Nice little restaurant with very friendly and fast servers, food was affordable, flavorful and adequate portions. The only downside is homeless loitering outside, sitting in the outdoor bench next to the entrance of the restaurant and they also go inside sometimes.“
“Always a pleasure dining here! Friendly staff, excellent service and good, huge portions! I had the Casa Amiga Bowl and a medium mango habanero margarita. Dee-lish-US!!! I’ll be back for a celebration meal next week. Music was too loud, though.“
“My overall experience was really pleasing. Our food arrived quickly.. The waiter was extremely helpful. The atmosphere was really nice as usual. The food was prepared exceptionally. Well, this visit, everything was really fresh. We will visit again in the near future.“
“Always a pleasant night at San Jose. Attentive service, good food, and fun atmosphere - solid restaurant experience for the past 4 years. Great place to take the family.Vegetarian options: Spinach enchiladas are delicious and the chunky guacamole is amazing.Parking: It's a very popular restaurant so their parking lot is usually busy, but we can usually find a space or twoKid-friendliness: We see a few large groups and a good number of families dining together.Wheelchair accessibility: No steps and plenty of tables.“
“Best Hispanic food I have ever had. Absolutely amazing food. And I'm from South Florida, we had tons of Hispanic restaurants. Parking is horrible; they have a small parking lot and a ton of customers. But it is definitely worth every bit of it. The owner or mgr. likes to interact with his customers. They make your food in front of you and ask what you want so you never get anything that you don't want. I highly recommend this place!!!Vegetarian options: They make it in front of you so you can ask them to put anything you want in it. If it's veggies you want then they do it.Kid-friendliness: You can dine in or sit out side. Authentic setting. The owner likes to interact with the kids a bit and gives them treats, and it was NOT in a weird way. Each time we showed up he did the same thing.“
“This is my new favorite spot in Columbia!! Every this is delicious, made fresh, and I couldn't get enough. Best birria tacos, "street corn", and churros I've ever had. Thank you! I will be back over and over. The service was great too, so nice and fun. I could tell the guy serving us and cooking was so excited to have us.“
“This was me and my husbands firstTime here and when I tellYou we always passed this place until we stopped in and ate the food was delicious it had more flavor than any of these big chain Mexican restaurants and the server was absolutely amazing!!! Our New Mexican spot for sure“
“Good authentic Mexican food in Columbia is hard to find, but Moctezumas comes really close to it. I recommend the chile colorado if you love spicy food but be warned your mouth will be on fire so get water. They have plenty of seafood choices as well which is surprising. You can't go wrong here. The service is also friendly and pretty fast.Parking: There is plenty of parking, no issues with it at all.“
“I've been to this place many times. The food is amazing. It's much better than San jose. They lost a star on food because a friend of mine ordered a chorizo burrito. Luckily, he filled up on chips and could only eat a bite. He said it was salty. He let me have the leftovers, and it was so salty that it was completely inedible. I hope that's not how it normally tastes. That was the only bad thing I've ever tried from them. Everything else I've had from here has been absolutely delicious, and I like the fact that there's some unique food on the menu. I like to try different things each time I go, so I've had a good bit of what they offer, and I'm slowly building a list of favorites. I'll update this eventually with pictures and recommendations. There's been a few food items that were decent at best, and ones that are so good that I'm getting hungry just thinking about.“
“I went to Chapala’s Mexican Restaurant this week for national margarita day. I didn’t quite like the tacos that I ordered, I might’ve ordered the wrong kind . However I really enjoyed the frosted margarita and my waiter! I will be back to try something “
“Ate lunch today - the young man who appeared to be the manager was fantastic. Overseeing the other employees at all times while building my burrito, without loosing focus on the customer. Extremely polite and respectful. Also, in the floor checking with customers and watching the floor. He's got it going on...food consisted and tasty.“
“Best Mexican restaurant in Columbia! No words to describe it. Just go give them a shot. Still a great place. They've got a B rating currently but it's because they are remodeling... Or maybe they are remodeling because they got a B rating?“
“The menudo and the bandeja paisa are my top choices! The vibes in this establishment made me feel comfortable especially with owner who’s always there to greet and attend to customers. The decorations were beautiful especially the painting. I also recommend the agua de horchata which was very refreshing, as well as the flan which was a great dessert. Would definitely recommend and I will definitely come back.“
“Great albeit small Mexican establishment. Great varied menu. If you want excellent food seasoned well...this is your spot. It is small and in a storefront next to a gas station, but elegance is not what they are going for. We ate at a table and had an excellent service. If you want endless chips and salsa and cheese over everything---keep moving. If you want an authentic fantastic Mexican meal....this is your spot. My only regret is not getting the shrimp cocktail the place is named for as they looked fabulous. Just go!“
“What a great option for people with dietary needs. They have a wonderful, vegan options. The fruit smoothies were delicious. Very healthy. If you’re looking for a place to get vegan options, this is your price. The only downfall is that they don’t have seating in the restaurant but when you’re out and about shopping, you can just drop in and get what you need.“
“Very different from any other Mexican restaurant we have eaten at, but in a good way! I ordered a Skinny Girl Margarita which was very tasty with the right amount of lime. My husband had a frozen Margarita which he found disappointing. Very little lime flavor and seemed to be watered down.I ate Mexican street tacos with steak and onions. The dish came with 3 tacos, Mexican rice and an ear of Mexican Street corn. The steak was obviously from a decent cut of beef as it wasn't tough at all. The Mexican Street corn was out of this world! Lots of spices, lime and I believe sour cream and cheese. My husband ordered Hawaiian fajitas because he doesn't eat peppers and onions as it is typically served. It was flour tortillas and chicken strips with pineapple bites. The onions were not on the skillet, as requested. A plate full of items to add to the tortillas and chicken was served right before the skillet came out. Included was rice, refried beans and a pico/sour cream mini salad.I will definitely return at lunchtime with a friend to get some more Mexican street corn and to try a different entrée.“
“Went around 2, it was surprisingly not busy but it’s very spacious and I was greeted with a smile. Food came out pretty quick, and everything looked and tasted fresh. Food was amazing! Our server was amazing and the pricing wasn’t bad, definitely going to be coming back soon!“
“I have nothing bad to say about this place. It was family friendly fairly priced. Service was amazing, we ordered and our food was brought out in record time. The food tased amazing as well. It has been agreed by my family to become our go to place, fyi we are a family of 6 ages ranging from 2 to 14 for children and all found something they liked.“
“The food here was really good! The service was good too but the waitress was really busy because it's such a popular place for lunch. She didn't get around to refilling our drinks until we asked, but again, it was very busy. She was very sweet and helpful.“
“The best Latin American food in the area, and for a good price! It’s authentic, hot, and fresh. They were willing to accommodate vegetarian options of the menu as everything is made to order. I can’t eat at other close by Mexican places because they lack gluten free options. Most of the food at this place are made from cornflour not wheat flour so I was able to enjoy most of the menu ?“
“I've gotten a different burrito every time I've been. I don't think they can make a bad burrito. I'd say they make the best burritos in Columbia easily. Their hot sauces are also really good. Portion sizes are big and you definitely feel like you get your money's worth. Staff is always friendly and attentive.“
