“UPDATE!!! Yes, its beenawhile since I've dined here, and WILL NOT return. That smokiness in the beans I returned for is GONE! The beans taste like they came right outta the can and where dry when they arrived. 2 spoonfuls and I was Done. My 20 oz margarita was colored sweet water. My rice, Dry. The main entree of 3 enchiladas had more melted cold cheese sprinkled on top than meat inside. WHAT HAPPENED!! Oh, maybe we gassed this place up so much at the beginning that quality went out the window once the ? started pouring in. This place is OFFICIALLY the worst mexican spot in Columbia and OVER PRICED!! To make matters worse, dont dine when Soccer is on or youll be ignored. I nicely commented on how unpleasant this recent experience was and suddenly, no one understood English and they still charged me for those beans. They are Uninterested in retaining repeat customers. This is a quick buck spot------‐--‐‐‐-----------------------There is a smoky flavor in their rice that is Amazing. Great bar to have a meal and watch a game“
“Food was tasty, and we got a lot of food for the value. Service was on point! As soon as we got there we were guided to our table, given chips and salsa, and given our drinks within 2 minutes. The food came out fast. The staff is lively, friendly, and fast. The music spanned across multiple genres, from Mariachi to EDM. The only thing I should mention is that one of the ladies in our party said the ladies room was messy, but we had not noticed anything in the gentlemen’s room.“
“Are here for lunch, the place was empty, probably because of roadwork being done in front of the business. I enjoyed most of my meal but, my beans were literally gray in color and did not have the same kind of consistency that they normally would. I didn't eat them. The rest of the meal was good and the waitress was nice.“
“I ordered the El Jimador Grill Special, it was extraordinary! My drink was a strawberry daiquiri in a monster glass, it was delicious! You must try their daiquiri. The server was very nice and attentive! Service was very fast, didn't wait over 15mins. This was my 2nd time at the Lake Murray location I shall be back!“
“I ran in trying to make a quick order being short on time and trying to rush to the restroom in the same small window I tried telling him my order really fast as I went to the washroom. I came back and the poor guy had made it almost just what I asked for except he added black beans. After I explained it to him he quickly remade my burrito and I was out the door with time to spare.“
“I had a splendid evening out with my family at El Charro Mexican restaurant. El Charro is a brother and sister owned restaurant in Irmo South Carolina. It is located in a shopping center and is right next to the shoe department store; the parking lot is tight but their is a lot of places to part. The restaurant has a large variety menu of classic Mexican food that is at a reasonable price for the quality of food you are receiving. In addition, they offer lunch prices, kids menu, dessert, appetizers, and a cocktail bar. What amazed me the most about El Charro is the variety of fajitas they offer. You can of course get the traditional fajitas but I would definitely recommend trying their other options which include: Charras, Mexican, Texanas, Hawaianas, De Camaron, Mar Y Tierra, De Mar, Vegetarians, and Mixed. All of their fajitas come with beans, tortillas, pinco de galla, rice, and cheese. Tonight I had the Hawaianas fajitas and it was to die for, but I wished there was more pineapple; I loved the spices they cook the food in. The Hawaianas fajitas come with chicken, pineapple, bell pepper, Charo, onions, and cheese. In my opinion the price was reasonable for the large portion we got. The price was $23.75 for two. All of El Charro fajitas range from $14.99 - $26.99. Furthermore, if you eat in you get fresh homemade chips and salsa free with your order. If you like spicy ask for the extra spicy hot sauce they other because it will definitely make you turn red in the face. When walking in you will feel like you transported into Mexico. El Charro has colorful walls, banners, Mexican music playing, and authentic wall decorations that match the atmosphere. In addition the place was spotless with no dirt in sight. The service was very friendly and polite. Our waiter was attentive and very friendly to us. Lastly, if you are hungry and trying to figure out where to go to dinner, I would definitely recommend going to El Charro because I will definitely coming back in the future.“
