“Bri is an excellent server. She did an amazing job of ensuring that my glass stayed full of delicious iced tea. The food was good and my steak was cooked exactly to my request. The atmosphere speaks for itself. Overall, an excellent meal with an outstanding server.Parking: Plenty of free parking.“
“Arrived right at our reservation time and was seated immediately. It was early and not busy but by the time we left they were completely full. The waiter showed up moments after we were seated with water and explained the menu and specials. We ordered the cheese plate and thought the serving size was appropriate and well worth the price. Not to mention the bread was incredible. Our meals were both great. The pork chop was juicy and tasty. My wife felt it was the best she's ever had. She ordered the steak (NY Strip) and while it was cooked perfectly, it wasn't overly special and could have used seasoning. However her sides were excellent. The service was great and it was worth the cost. It's slightly above normal pricing for a couple bur reasonable and worth the cost.“
“Tombo Grille, nestled at 4517 Forest Dr. Columbia, SC 29206, is an absolute delight! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that will make you feel right at home. While it may appear small from the outside, don't let that fool you – once you step inside, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the spacious interior. We kicked off our dining experience with the delectable Chopped Salad, a delightful medley of romaine lettuce, juicy tomatoes, crisp cucumbers, diced egg, toasted almonds, savory bacon, sharp cheddar cheese, all dressed in a creamy honey mustard vinaigrette. It was a refreshing start that left us eager for more.Next, we indulged in the Korean BBQ Spring Rolls, which were a true culinary delight. While the hoisin dipping sauce wasn't quite to my liking, the spring rolls themselves were absolutely wonderful on their own—bursting with flavor and perfectly crispy. For our main courses, we had the pleasure of trying the Corned Beef Special for Saint Patrick's Day, a delightful nod to tradition that left us feeling festive and satisfied. We also sampled the Chicken Parmesan, featuring tender chicken smothered in lemon herb ricotta, pomodoro sauce, and melted mozzarella, served alongside angel hair aglio e olio. Each bite was a symphony of flavors that left us craving more.Overall, the food and atmosphere at Tombo Grille exceeded our expectations, making it a true hidden gem in Columbia. We highly recommend paying a visit – you won't be disappointed!“
“Absolutely amazing experience! The overall ambiance and energy of the space was warm, inviting, elegant, and jazzy. Imagine if Jill Scott, Maxwell, Teddy P, Marvin Gaye, India Arie, Janet Jackson, H.E.R, Usher and The Roots band started a club together......with G. Garvin as the chef!! Babyyyyy, the short ribs were stupendous, the service a slamdunk, the drinks delectable and the music (band and singers) was nothing short of mesmerizing!!! We felt safe, welcomed, full, and excited about our next visit! Get your tickets and GO!!!“
“This was the best breakfast I've had in a while. We had a little wait, but definitely worth it because the care they took in making our food was evident. Husband had biscuits and gravy with city grits. Great! I had trad breakfast with side of bourbon pancakes! Great too! English muffin was toast but soft! Pancakes melt in mouth. Potatoes were not greasy. Baked bacon and eggs were so good. I want to come back and try Floridian Omelette!Parking: Plenty of parking.“
“If you are a BBQ lover this place this place will not disappoint. The location is cool they have indoor dining and outdoor as well. The staff are friendly and check on you often. But the winner is the food. We ordered the Pig Out which you can choose 4 proteins and 2 sides. We ordered 2 1/2 rack of ribs, pulled pork and brisket. The ribs were fall off the bone. The pulled pork was really good. The brisket had a mixture or lean and fatty which was great! Also included hash puppies and some pickles. For our 2 side was the Mac and Chesse which definitely was my favorite and some Cole Slaw which was good. Definitely has to be one of my new favorite BBQ spots now.“
“I discovered Jack Brown's while looking for late-night dining options downtown. The positive reviews and the fact that they were open until 2AM caught my attention. Tucked among other late-night hangouts, this place has a cozy vibe with wooden bar furniture, string lights, and great music. The bartender, Meredith, and the rest of the staff were attentive and efficient. I ordered the double classic jack burger with fries, and it was fantastic. The burger was juicy and perfectly cooked, and the combination of caramelized onions and thinly sliced dill pickles added a delightful tartness. The JB sauce, with its almost tartar-like consistency, was delicious—I even used it to smother my crinkle cut fries. I'd love to have the recipe for that sauce at home. My whole party of four thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and we all wished we had ordered the double burger like I did. I highly recommend this spot.“
“First time eating here. Came a few weeks ago but it was understandably really busy for lunch and I was in a rush. Breakfast at 8:30 and they did a quick, great job with the sausage biscuit and hash rounds. Peaceful atmosphere, good prices and good people.“
“Everything exceeded my expectations about this place. I visited there during their 5th year anniversary week and they had some really great specials going on. There was happy hour all night and special menu items added during that week. I had the Tom Collins drink and I had the short rib with sweet potato and it was very good. That was my 2nd time visiting and I will definitely be back.“
“Kept seeing this place on instagram. I had to try it….I have no pictures because I got in my car, and ate it all before I got home.Just moved here from Buffalo, NY and was looking for a wing place. Have tried a few places and was always disappointed…NOT TODAY!Wow!!! I got the lemon pepper….amazing. Perfect crisp, and super tangy, no artificial lemon flavoringAnd the fried okra. Both so on point. And the customer service was amazing as well!BEST WINGS IN COLUMBA!“
“We always have a nice time here for our date night, but this time was even better. The mussels appetizer was fantastic, so much so that they should make an entree dish out of it. Our server, Patrick, was amazing and definitely deserves credit for making our time there so nice.“
“At 1st glanced from the outside I wasn't impressed idk so we left. Something told me to go back and give them a try and I'm glad I did. We was greeted upon entering the vibes was good loved the music selection they had playing.....I guess it was the owner and the cook was very friendly and made sure they kept us informed on our order they showed us prior to paying. And the food was good. We got the chicken Philly & Fries which everything is made to order and the lunch special of fried chicken beans & rice and cabbage. Very well seasoned and tasty will be back again.Vegetarian options: Sides such as cabbage, potatoes salad, rice, fries, etcParking: Parking was good enough space“
“Friday night packed, so we waited awhile for our food. Completely understandable. When we got our food, we all agreed we would have waited longer. I got the smashburger and fries, but was also able to taste an egg roll appetizer and some loaded fries, all spectacular. I don't live in this state. If I did, I'd go here more.“
“This place is our weekly neighborhood spot the food is amazing but this past weekend we brought my granddaughter to celebrate she is getting married i request a special shout out to her we never received it it was a busy night overall everything else was “
“This was a solid place to grab some brunch on Sunday. I was in town visiting and decided on this because it was close to where I parked. They’ve got a good selection for brunch and the food was good. Nothing spectacular for a burger and fries but the portions were large. I think the burger was $22 with fries. We sat at the bar and we were checked on enough. The service was fine as well. Solid 4/5.“
“My family and I LOVE COLA'S!!!! I have never had a bad meal here! All their food is delicious, and it is a great place for a fun date night out. The service and atmosphere are awesome! You have got to try the spice rubbed Chicken! Best chicken I have ever had!“
“I took my wife out for the Riverbank Zoo it was nice, then the Saluda river, it was also nice. But let me tell you, the Black Rooster was awesome, I loved the oysters on the half shell. Got too try the Craft beers on tap ?? yummy ? but the service was out of this !world . We will be back !!!“
“When looking at the reviews before posting mine I saw one particularly negative review about a sever that absolutely confused me! I hope it was not about our dear server Maya. She was the sweetest server and seemed VERY on top of things. What a kind girl. The food was excellent and the service was STELLAR! Will be returning again, the brisket was to die for.“
“I gave them 3 stars only because I only had a piece on caramel salted cheesecake, it was great. We went here because a guy had recommended that we go there and try the cheesesteak sandwiches. The only reason we didn’t eat eat was we both felt like we were underdressed. The wait staff was very nice. Will be going back to eat some “
“Y'all, when I say this is the best burger joint arguably in all of South Carolina, I am not joking. I would put this up to any burger in this state. Forget Pawleys Porch. Forget Five Guys. This place is phenomenal. Food is cooked to order. Starting from the top the SBA (soft bun action) is perfect. A good soft bun, but not one that breaks apart with the condiments added on or fresh ingredients. That leads me to my next ingredient. The tomato's, lettuce, onions, pickles, all of the toppings are crazy fresh. Tastes like they just picked them out the garden and sliced them right away. Next the meat. The absolutely best flavored, seasoned, juicy, charred, cut of meat I can think of putting in my mouth. It's not just salt and pepper and thrown on a flat top. Has spice, but not too much, has perfect taste, excellent temperature not undercooked not over cooked. Steve knows his beef burgers, take my word for it. Next the price for a burger with a side and a drink is absolutely insane compared to other places in this inflated 2024 year. I fed myself and my wife, and 2 children for next to nothing price wise. I would've had to take out a loan to get all of this at Five Guys. Now I have to ding them on 2 things. The crinkle cut fries are OK, not good not bad, kinda mid. But the biggest thing I think would take this spot to the next level is if they had DUKE'S MAYO!! They only have packets of Monarch mayo. Everyone knows in the south Duke's is the way and the only way. I would even settle for Hellmann's mayo over Monarch. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ADD DUKE'S MAYO TO THIS RESTAURANT!!!!! Alas, even if they don't heed my word, the burger meat speaks so much for itself, it drowns out the tasteless Monarch mayo. Other than that don't change anything about this place. I will literally go out of my way (I live 45 mins away one way from this establishment) every time I am craving a burger. Maybe in the mean time I will sneak in a bottle of Duke's in my pocket. I will gladly give my hard earned money to these fine, nice, polite people. SUPPORT LOCAL!!!!!! Oh and a bonus is there is an ice cream store attached to this spot, and it's just as great, but that will be it's own separate review.**UPDATE/REVISED**Went back there today with proper Duke's mayonnaise, and I can't ding this guy for the condiments he chooses. The burger meat, buns and toppings speak for themselves period point blank as well as the prices. I would maybe do things different with the condiments if this was my establishment, but I can't judge or ding him for it. Got the tater tots this time, and very much enjoyed those over the fries.Side note, I like that he puts his faith out there, with the Bibles and themes, and people need to stop mocking him or judging him based off this. What a society we now live in that feels justified in coming at this man in his own establishment for his religion and beliefs. Shame on each and every one of you. Just shows how much we have gone down as a country, as none of this would've happened 20 to 30 years ago. I am 37 years old, not big on religion or going to church, but I do believe there is a God, one God, and everyone is going to face Him after this life.Keep doing what you are doing at this place of business and may God bless this man, establishment, and employees. Perfect score across the board 10/10. A++!!“
“This was my first time ordering food from this restaurant and I absolutely enjoyed it! I had the Philly cheesesteak combo and it seriously was one of the best Philly cheesesteak’s that I’ve had in Columbia! They were extremely busy with pick up, to-go, and door dash orders so the wait was a little longer than intended but it was definitely worth it! I highly recommend!“
“Outstanding dining experience! Great food, drinks, wine, service and family atmosphere! The Angell Brothers 1801 Grille has established itself as one of the Best Restaurants in Columbia for a consistently great establishment to have a fine meal with family, friends and business associates! Highly recommended!“
“CJs is a 5 pts staple bar. It's a mix of all types of people so it's not the usual college bar even though it's in that area. The food is served until 10 pm and the sandwiches are all delicious. There's pool tables and a great patio area with a view of the fountain. Hands down the best location to sit and enjoy the heart of 5 pts.“
“Went both day and sun. Food excellent and staff working hard and very attentive. Sat was no wait at 10am, Sunday 30 min wait but it was campus visitation and post church crowd so given that they did great. I had the farmhouse omelet and the shrimp and grits omelet. Both excellent. The home fry potatoes are very good, well seasoned.“
“Nice place to grab breakfast or brunch. No crowd when I walked. Was greeted with a smile and staff was very polite. Ordered French toast with bacon and potatoes. Everything tasted good in my opinion. And was all under $12. Good food for a great value.“
“This is not a sports bar. But there are several screens and always some games going on, and it's one of the few places where you can find soccer. Owned by a Scotsman so go figure. If you've been there and enjoyed a drink, including their vast tap selection, but havent tried the food, you need to do that. I'm blown away by the quality of food at reasonable prices. Try the hamburger steak or fish & chips! They also have pint night and trivia night (and even karaoke twice a month). An amazing neighborhood bar that people come across town to enjoy.“
“Don’t have pictures, but this seafood restaurant, by far, has the best seafood in Columbia! It’s a family owned business with the best staff and the food always comes out hot and fresh. I’ve tried several different plates but my favorite is the salt and pepper catfish! I take my mother with me and she says it’s her favorite place as well. The building is the old Pizza Inn from waaay back (memories) and they’ve done a great job making it look like the old style fish camps. You gotta try it! You’ll enjoy it. I always see repeat customers when I go there.“
“Excellent service and the food was very good. The Ambiance was sportbar vibe with TVs all along the walls. The food was hot, well prepared but the service was outstanding. Our waiter was knowledgeable, made great suggestions and checked with us periodically to ensure we had what we needed. The tea is REAL sweet but really good.“
“First time visiting Zesto's and I wasn't disappointed. The chicken is really good! Haven't had a chance to try any other menu items yet as I was only visiting South Carolina briefly. The atmosphere reminds me of the old diner look from the menu display to the seating and menu items which includes milk shakes, banana boats, fries, fried chicken, hot dogs apple pies etc. I will be returning on my next visit to SC. If you're in the area stop by and check them out.“
“I take my kids here when it rains outside. We get ice cream and French fries and drive around.Five stars for what it is. A traditional leaning, not quite fast food, ice cream / concession stand style food that does what it does fairly well.Ice cream + French fry combo is elite.“
“Hands down the best food I have had in a while! We went here with a group of family. Everyone in the party enjoyed their selection!we all recommend the food here! I had the sliders and truffle fries! I would definitely recommend them to anyone! Come with an appetite because the portions are large!most selections can be shared!“
“I waited a little longer than expected for my food due to a little hiccup in the kitchen but everyone FOH bent over backwards to make it right! My pup and I enjoyed a little more music than planned and loved every minute of it. Visiting a restaurant in Columbia with an engaged team and caring owner was a lovely surprise! The pizza was very homemade and very delicious. Artisanal maybe?“
“Stumbled onto this place driving back from the beach. It was lovely! The food was delish. The staff was amazing. The drinks were wonderful. Definitely more of a mixologist vs bartender style.I highly recommend.Kid-friendliness: My 10yr old loved it.“
“Very good location. Lots of easy parking. Inside is very clean well serviced. Staff is very friendly disnt wait long for a table. Got the house blend coffee and it is smooth and surprisingly delicious. Coffee Beans did not taste burnt. They use high end syrups for the mixes on the mixed coffees. I ordered the homestead platter. Eggs bacon sausage biscuits and sausage gravy.Eggs were perfect bacon was crispy and delicious. Biscuits were light and fluffy. Sausages were good to my liking just tasted like hot sausages so be prepared. An overall experience it was very good. Compliments to the chefs and staff.“
“Russia never disappoints kinda like Chick-fil-A pretty consistent. Have great memories of my parents picking up food and coming out to the pond meeting me and the children and having picnics on Sunday catching fish and catching sun the chili cheeseburger basket is a must have you gotta get the banana split “
“Went for lunch a couple of times and both times, (1130-1200) it seemed as if the waitresses were too busy doing other things to take out orders and check on us. We had to flag them down to get our food out and to get the check. And the place was not that busy. The food was good but, I wouldn't go on a work lunch break. You will probably run over on time.“
“My favorite place for lunch. I usually get the fried chicken basket but the burger and chicken sandwich baskets are good too. This particular location has a sweet senior citizen who comes around and refills tea and collects trash. Great place!“
“Without a doubt, they have one of the best pizzas! I recommend making your pizza with the ingredients you like, and what you'll receive will be fantastic! I've been here multiple times, and each time the quality and service were excellent!“
“I came here with my mother, we got a couple cupcakes and cookies. The lunch specialities caught our eye and and we got the "Carolina Bangers & Mash". Usually when I go out I'm scared to try something new but I'd definitely come back to have this again. The employees made us feel welcomed and the chef was super nice. 10/10 def coming back again.“
“Everything I ate was great. Shrimp and grits or some of the best I've ever had. Desserts were very tasty. The macaroni and cheese was to die for and I'm not macaroni and cheese person but I loved it. I don't see how anybody could be disappointed in the food“
“My recent experience at The Polliwogs was marked by a delightful combination of excellent offerings and service. The restaurant's playful and family-friendly atmosphere, paired with attentive staff, created the perfect setting for an enjoyable dining experience. The Polliwogs' commitment to consistently delivering quality and satisfying options was evident throughout the visit. Whether you're seeking a casual bite or a more family-oriented dining experience, The Polliwogs is a reliable choice that offers both exceptional options and attentive service. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to savor more of their delightful offerings!“
“It’s been a while since we’ve come across delicious, large, well done, multiple sauce option, affordable wings. This place is absolutely worth a visit.Tots, deep fried pickles and wings are a cant miss. It’s a big positive for us, maybe not for others but - this place should be classified as a dive bar. Reminds me of my old Wisconsin haunts. But it’s loud, friendly, affordable, and wonderful.Enjoy!“
“Jennifer was our server. She was wonderfully attentive. Fried chicken, salmon patty, ham, fried catfish were absolutely fantastic! Also the Mac and cheese, yams, squash casserole, and cabbage were wonderful! We weren't fans of the Alabam slaw...but to each their own. We ordered the blackberry cobbler and banana pudding that were heavenly! Real sweet tea was the best we've ever had.We will be back tomorrow for a real southern breakfast.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!“
“My Good friend had just gotten off work and we were both hungry. Without debate we agreed eating here would be our Best Bet for Great Food without fail. It was approx 5:30pm and quite busy, however we were seated in not time. Waiter on point with flawless execution of service. Every single food item was absolutely fresh n deliciously prepared. ?“
“I consider this place to be a hidden gem in Columbia. I have been eating here since I was a little girl. I recommend the hot dog basket all the way or the gizzard basket. I hate they stopped selling fried pork chop because they were amazing. Staff is also very friendly. Everything is cooked fresh so it will be a little wait but it's well worth it.“
“Anna was such an awesome server 5 stars for her. And John is the cook and came out to check and make sure our food was good which it was. Thanks Anna and John we love Dennys and the energy you both give makes us love it more?Kid-friendliness: My kids love Dennys and how nice the staff is to them every time we come.“
“We got there around 8 on Saturday when they opened. The atmosphere was laid back at first, then around 10ish the dj comes. Our host Asia was bomb, very attentive and answered any questions we had. Great service from her! She even took the mint flavor out of our hookah. The food was sooo good, we got wings and hibachi. The drinks were good as well. We stayed until about 11 and it seems that's when it starts to get packed. We just came to eat, lounge & vibe so get there early but if you want to turn up turn up, get there later!“
“I like how shops like this offer better options than big chains. Your opinion might differ from mine but I like these wings better than other places. The flavor is there and the texture is good. It's a regular restaurant that you probably drive by every day and don't notice because it doesn't have the advertisement like other places but if you try it, I'm sure you will returnParking: There is a lot of parking unless you are going in the peak hoursKid-friendliness: This restaurant has a kids menu.“
“Came here for lunch with my son today and was greeted the second we walked in. The employees were extremely friendly and the food was DELICIOUS! Best gyro I've ever had! I got the chicken gyro and it was seasoned perfectly. Loved the battered onion rings too. My son had a cheeseburger and ate the entire thing. We will definitely be returning each time we're out in Columbia!“
“Parking is horrible!!!. Fries had no seasoning and the cheese on them was cold and just fell to the bottom of the bowl. Won't order those again. The pizza was very good but don't take it home to eat the rest later.... it turns into a hard inedible waste of money. Burger temp was wrong. Mango Dressing was phenomenal.“
