⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3/5 Review – Sonic Drive-In, Darlington, SC
Visited around 5 PM on a Friday, and I understand that’s a peak time—things were definitely busy. Stalls 1–8 were full, and while stalls 9 & 10 are marked for mobile pickup, the app wouldn’t recognize them. Stalls 11–14 were hit-or-miss (maybe two working), also full, and the drive-thru had a line.

The reason for the 3 stars are for management not keeping solicitors from approaching customers and begging for money for bus tickets or gas money. I don't mind feeding a hungry person but not handing out money to feed a possible addiction. One guy asked me to take him to an ATM so I could withdraw to give him. This is a very dangerous situation to be placed into and needs to be managed. Until that happens, I recommend ordering through the drive thru only at this location.

The staff is friendly, with special mention of an employee named Brian who provided excellent service. Recently, the restaurant has been busy with new staff and ownership training, and while mistakes happen, the owner was very nice and apologetic. Some customers experienced rude service at the stall, but car hop Amarion saved the day with high-level customer service. The parking area is clean and quiet, and food arrives hot and fresh, though some items like the fried pickles have a soft crust and small portions. Despite mixed experiences, Sonic Drive-In is recommended for its tasty food and great service.
