“Overall I love this place because of the food but they need to work on their customer service when going face-to-face addressing the customer while ordering they just need to smile and be a little bit more courteous being polite and in a good mood and attitude is part part of the job“

“Best restaurant for Chinese or hibachi. The Singapore Mai Fun is the best in the area. The people that work there are very friendly and are always willing to bring your food to the table. I've been to many Chinese restaurants in the area but I enjoy this one the most because of the quality of the food and the portion size they give you.“

“i was staying near by and not from the area. was trying to go to the thai place a few doors down but it closed for lunch or something, so i went here. place looked actually japanese and some of the staff probably really were japanese which is a rarity. like "kimono mom" level of traditional politeness. i got the miso ramen, it was huge in bowl and broth portion but lacking a little in the pork. however, it did fall apart and was tender and flavorful. at least i got a whole egg, which is not a given anymore. price was fantastic as i'm used to paying 15 or 16 for ramen, so 12 was a shock. service was on point, wasn't in my face all the time but refilled my drink and got my check like they were paying attention which i appreciate. will definitely repeat. i saw others complain about reservations and i might have lucked out since there was no wait (late lunch), line or stress. the bathroom was clean. the only thing that sort of ruined the meal was the booth next to mine was a couple that used profanity every 8th word, around several tables of children and have no concept of an indoor voice. it was like a shouting match of who could impress the other in obnoxiousness. kudos.“

“Wow! The Miso soup started the meal off with a burst of flavor! Slightly salty and savory, it was the best miso I've had in a long time. It did take a moment after sitting before we were waited on. The food, however, was really good. I got a beef and salmon hibache, which was really good. The steak was delicious. The salmon had a great crispy flavor. My boyfriend got the chicken and steak. His chicken was delicious and juicy. The vegetables were also good. I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I really want to go again and try the sushi.“

“Easily our favorite hibachi and the Sakura roll is a must have. We appreciate the fresh cut vegetables in our meals instead frozen like it usually is at hibachi restaurants. The service is always great and the restaurant is clean. If you live close do not pass on Sakura!“

“I stopped in on Fri July 12th to get a takeout order. The girl at the counter acted like she was annoyed to take my order and dropped my change in my hand like she was afraid her hand would brush against mine! She was pleasant to the man in line behind me and even told him that his order would be ready in about 10 min but never said anything about how long it would take for my order. When my order was ready, she called my name, slammed the bag on the counter and walked away! Never said thank you, come again, nothing. I work at a restaurant and no one there treats people like that! I used to go to Tokyo Grill once a month and the lady who used to be at the counter was very nice, friendly; always had a smile and conversation while I waited for my order and ALWAYS said thank you and come again. It's called customer service and if the girl who was there on Friday can't treat everyone the same, maybe she should find something else to do! As she stood there with a nasty attitude, she should've been picking up a broom to sweep the floor!“

“I have been visiting Joy of Tok since 2012 to prsen the food is always hot delicious and fresh. I have did take out and delivery the food is always unbelievably good!!!!! My family and I love it everytime . I have been to the Hwy 14 location and woodruff rd and the E North St location. All have wonder food and excellent portions . “I’ve lived here for 24 years, and tonight was the first time I’d ever been to (or even heard of ) Shanghai Tokyo. I’m from NY and was lucky to experience some of the best Chinese out there. Y’all...this place is hands down THE BEST Chinese I’ve ever had in Greenville! I was so impressed with the quality ingredients they use.

When I had a first bite of steak, it's so tender and juicy!
Fried rice is very good too! I can tell that this place is using high quality rice. (Usually other hibachi restaurants are using lowest price long grain rice)

“This was our first visit here. We brought my daughter here for her birthday eve dinner, she had such a memorable time. My girls rated it 10/10.

I think I’ve avoided hibachi for so long because it always seems like such a long event, but this wasn’t the case. Our family was entertained and had a delicious meal and we were out within an hour. It was amazing.

We reserved a time through google assistant to avoid a wait, but it wasn’t crowded for a Friday night. We had hibachi. Our food was extremely generous serving and packed with flavor. My daughters loved the ginger salad dressing. We will be returning for more family dinners.

Kid-friendliness: Kids menu was plentiful and appropriately priced.
