“It really bothers me that I have to do this. I have been going to Alex restaurant for many years. I grew up eating at this restaurant. Today my mother who is hospitalized asked me to go to Alex and get her some lunch. I was so excited because for a long time she had no appetite. (she's battling Cancer) I went and got her some hamburger steak, brown gravy and rice and cabbage. As my mother was eating we noticed that the hamburger steak was not cooked throughly. Since I was at the hospital and was visiting for awhile I decided to take a picture and throw it away. I called the restaurant as I left the hospital and explained what happened. The first young lady was polite and told me I had to speak to her manager. Her manager Ms Ruby came to the phone and was sarcastic to say the least. She over talked me as I was trying to explain to her that I threw it away but I took a picture. Needless to say I was told that because I didn't have the food to bring back they would not remake the food. Out of all the years I have been going here I have never experienced this. As much as I hate it (which they don't care, that was evident from the phone call) they have lost a loyal customer me and my family frequently eat at this establishment almost everyday. I don't have time to try and scam a restaurant out of a hamburger steak meal.“

“This was a great facility and the lunch buffet was wonderful, typical base buffet with traditional hot entrees and sides, salad, dessert etc. Went to a couple very nice Oktoberfests here also. Seems like there was a cozy bar in there too. So sad it is now closed. Always wonderful staff also. Please bring it back JB Charleston!“

“Great food! You can tell the products are fresh and made with pride! Had the tuna eggroll special, best one I've had! Sat outside but fans were on and was a nice night. Service was good. Will go back when visiting SC again!“

“Recently, we held a birthday party here and the entire night exceeded expectations. The staff stayed on top of refills, drink orders,
food orders, and they made sure the entire party of 30 plus was taken care of. I have never seen such a well oiled machine in any restaurant or bar and I have to give credit where credit is due. I ordered the 10 smoked wings, phosphate poutine fries, cheddar poppers, and armadillo eggs. Everything tasted amazing including the wings! The meat was smoked and juicy! As soon as you bite into the wing you capture the seasoning rub of the outside of the chicken and when dipped into the sauces makes it to die for. The chicken wing sizes are huge in size comparable to the size of most Chinese egg rolls. To be honest out of the ten wings I could only eat six before I felt full. The fries were covered in cheese curds brown gravy and topped with cheese to hold the gravy within the fries. It took us some time to drive here from James Island but well worth the drive and the wait!“

However, what truly stood out was their unparalleled customer service. Upon encountering a slight delay in preparing my order due to an issue with the gravy, the kitchen manager personally approached me to explain the situation. Not only did he offer alternative menu options to expedite my meal, but he also went above and beyond by ensuring I was comfortable during the brief wait. Despite my reassurance that there was no rush on my end, he generously provided pastries to enjoy while patiently waiting for my dish to be ready. It's rare to encounter such transparency and genuine concern for customer satisfaction in the restaurant industry. The Junction Kitchen exemplifies what true hospitality means, setting a standard that many others could learn from. As for the meal itself, it surpassed expectations. The Biscuits & Gravy paired with Sweet Tea Fried Chicken was a delightful combination of flavors and textures, showcasing the culinary expertise of the kitchen staff. Despite the minor delay, the wait was inconsequential compared to the overall dining experience. “I I love to support our local businesses and restaurants here on DI and want to plug the new dinner options that Mpishi has on Friday nights from 5-8 pm. We had dinner there last night and the food was AMAZING! The food was fresh and light and the chef did a wonderful job catering to the many different diet restrictions in our group. SO excited to have a dinner option for healthy food here on DI! Highly recommend everyone trying them!!“

“What a wonderful stay we had at the North Charleston Marriott!! Jessica at the front desk is absolutely incredible!! She was very sweet, professional and accommodating to all the guests…a true gem! Housekeeping also did a great job and we love that they even offer housekeeping since some hotels don’t in these post-Covid days. This hotel is in a great location, just off I-26, close to the outlet stores and restaurants, but far enough away from all the traffic in that area. Our room was a King Junior Suite and it was very spacious, with one and a half bathrooms, and a comfortable couch. Not a lot of drawer storage for clothes (2 small drawers in the desk & 1 under the safe), but there was plenty of room to hang clothes to the left of the closet, so it all worked out. You can also hang some things in the small armoire/closet, but the items hang front to back, so it’s a little difficult to access things. The safe was plenty roomy and the bath and bed linens were nice. The bed is softer than our bed at home, but we both slept pretty well. We loved the walk-in shower and the water pressure and temperature were truly great! The bathrooms had built-in night lights behind the mirrors and the bed had this really cool ambient lighting above/behind the headboard that could be turned on or off. Lots of extra seating in this room with several chairs and the L shaped couch. The tv selection was just “ok”, in part because several of the channels, such as HGTV, did not come in. The wifi worked well at times, but no so well at other times. The AC worked well and there were plenty of places to charge your electronic devices. We ate dinner at the restaurant and Kelly & Becca were our severs on different nights. The food at the restaurant, HC Provisions, was excellent!! We had the wings, the chicken and waffles, the Caesar salad and the housemaid chips and they were all excellent! This hotel seems to be a popular venue for events. There was one going on Saturday night and we noticed several business functions going on during our stay as well. Crystal and Sheila were in the M Club Lounge at breakfast time and they were both great and did a great job of keeping everything well stocked. The breakfast offered scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, potatoes, yogurt, cereal, muffins and pastries, hot oatmeal and biscuits and gravy till 10am. During the rest of the day, you could pop in for coffee, water, sodas and juices as well as snacks such as chips and cookies. The evening offered hors d’oeuvres but the one night (Monday) we arrived at 7:20pm, everything was already being cleaned up, so I guess we missed it. The outdoor area offered a pool and two fire pit areas which would be great to sit and catch up with friends and family if you were here with a small group. We had such a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this hotel and we would stay here again.“

“Ordered online! Online ordering was convenient and easy to request special requests. During pickup, service was prompt. The order was exactly as we requested, even to the extra mayo (be careful what you ask for ?). We'll definitely make this a regular choice for take-out!! My husband had the Banging Buffalo Chicken Wrap and nothing about it is mild ???

“I can’t remember my server’s name, but she was amazing. Not only that, there were other servers who were very attentive to my needs and if I needed anything in addition to her. The drinks were great. The food was delicious. I didn’t take any pictures, but the steak bowl and fries pickles were tasty! Service was impeccable. Food came out fast & fresh. The atmosphere felt cozy & safe.“
