American Rosewood Wagyu Flat Iron Steak, 10oz. $69. It was juicier and more tender than filet mignon. The service was attentive. A bit on the pricy side, but I still recommend this place.

Follow up: I had diarrhea within 24hr of having the beef Tartare and it was a really bad one. I highly suspect it came from the Tartare. I have adjusted the food rating to 3-star and overall rating to 4-star.

We were visiting town and fortunate to walk in on a Saturday night and find a seat without waiting though it was in the lounge. It appears to be a higher-level steakhouse, and the atmosphere is pleasant. Our two servers were pleasant and seemed happy to serve us. The sourdough bread and the wedge salad were excellent. We were disappointed though in the $70 ribeye as it had an “unusual” amount of connective tissue which we had to spit out/discard. We repeatedly encountered chewy connective tissue throughout the edible portions of the steak. I politely mentioned it to the server but she said this was to be expected in this steak and “to ask for a leaner cut Ribeye the next time.” I’ve had too many ribeyes in fine steakhouses to know that this was inferior. Most quality steakhouses want to know when a premium steak doesn’t meet expectations. Maybe because we were seated in the lounge it cheapened their service in their minds. And I just overlooked the $1 extra charge from the menu price for our glass of wine. They have good reviews overall so trust this was a bad one-off. Maybe just stay out of the lounge.

I have to open with the service from Roger, phenomenal. Reads the room, watches for queues but not from in front of you, by passive observation. That man is on it - even in a slammed dining environment. I scarcely had better service especially if we are counting a genuine sincerity and warmth. This is how you do hospitality.

Host was very friendly and helpful.

I’ve had better filets even at Cheesecake Factory. I don’t recommend. Also excessively salty. They did nail the temperature so they aren’t untalented. The sides were great too, and he garnishes on the main plates were perfectly paired and delicious - unexpected surprise from a garnish. Great job on that.

I came on a Saturday night and there was live music but…. Don’t come for the music.

Lots and lots of seating options so you can pick your atmosphere.

We came here because it was highly recommended. Our waitress was Karen who made it feel like we were an inconvenience. We told her it was our first time, she mentioned a steak broad she was going to bring over to show us all the different kinds of steaks. They never happened. We asked if there was any specials, her answer surf and turf. The table behind us got a whole lot more options for specials. My husband had to ask for sweet tea which she never came back to refill it. She also never came back after our dinner arrived to make sure everything was ok. For a fine dining experience that is a pricey place it was not worth it.

My husband and I have been fans of Halls for many years. Tonight we had the opportunity to visit the Greenville, SC location. Our waiter, Matthew, was a delight and took such great care of us. The food was impeccable as always. The openness of this location made for a great atmosphere. We continue to be fans and are already looking forward to our next visit!!

Had Sunday brunch at Halls 6/7/2026. Fantastic from the service and the food. Fried green tomato appetizer was outstanding. Loved the omelet(what an addition butternut squash is to an omelet, who knew?). Collard greens, cream corn skillet, the French toast dish, eggs benedict, all so tasty. This is the second Halls owned restaurant we've been to(High Cotton in Charleston), strongly recommend both. Constant friendly attentive service, well done!

I came to Halls Chophouse in Greenville SC for an 80th birthday party. We originally reserved a table for nine, and our waitress, Lexi, was nothing short of amazing. Our party of nine turned into a party of 14. We came from out of town and were trying to make sure our grandmother had a good time seeing her children, grandchildren, and close family friends.

Lexi was patient, attentive, detail oriented, and so so accommodating to our family. We sat at a table outside so our little ones could play. Lexi made sure each surprise family member had a seat at our table and an order that came out on time, complete, and delicious. She treated our entire family, like family.

She never let her smile drop. Her hospitality ranks up there with one of the best waitresses I’ve met in the South. We loved our time with Lexi! She’ll be a huge reason we’ll be back at Halls Chophouse. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was amazing, and Lexi is a gem. Ask for her if you can, you’ll be in great hands!
