Great place not so much on the wallet though.
I love this little hibachi/sushi place that happens to be conveniently located next to my nail salon. We get food there every few weeks and they never disappoint. The hibachi is always scrumptious, the steak is so tender and the shrimp juicy and the chicken not dry. Have enjoyed all the sushi rolls we have tried, and also their pork potstickers are amazing.

Sumo Sushi & Hibachi is a Japanese restaurant and a great new addition to the downtown dining scene and the Irmo area. This little hibachi and sushi place offers a fresh, clean take on Japanese cuisine with minimalist decor and a quiet, focused atmosphere that puts the food front and center. The hibachi is always scrumptious, with steak that is tender, shrimp that is juicy, and chicken that is not dry. The sushi rolls are enjoyable, and the eel is the best, with huge pieces that are fresh. Other menu items include pork potstickers, pork dumplings, spring rolls, and the teriyaki chicken plate, which is delicious. The spring rolls are nice and crunchy. The hibachi steak express plate and pork dumplings are both amazing, with dumplings that are hot and fresh and steak cooked well. The food is fantastic, the staff is friendly and polite, and the bathrooms are very clean. It is great to eat in or order for pickup or delivery. A tip is to order ahead to skip rather long wait times. This place delivers an exceptional and thoughtful sushi experience and is a must-visit for serious sushi lovers.
