We have dined there for many many years. Unfortunately, this past year has not been as good as it is normally. I ordered my seafood grilled instead of fried. I have done this for many years because I can't eat fried and it has always been delicious. They said they could grill my scallops and shrimp and had to either broil or blacken my flounder. Unfortunately, I think everything was broiled, and then they covered it with Old Bay. I had to actually scrape the Old Bay seasoning off of what was supposed to be blackened flounder. It was just broiled and then thickly covered in Old Bay seasoning. My husband's dish of whole fried flounder was very good. He was pleased with it. Our other guests did enjoy their dishes with the exception of the sautéed flounder. It was a little heavy on the flour according to my friend. We will give it another shot as it has been good in the past and in hopes it will return to its past standards.
Service and food are always excellent. Steaks melt in your mouth and the shrimp dishes never disappoint.
Service and food and Old Fashioned were amazing. Our server was a saint - she helped us figure out how to get to our condo after we had searched for an hour! All employees were pleasant as well. Best she-crab soup in SC!!
1st off - making a reservation for early Sunday lunch was very easy. LIC is know for its superb food and service. The service was great, the food good. But then again, maybe it was my choice on the menu. Overall, LIC is my topm restaurant choice in IOP & Mt Pleasant.
Gigi took such good care of us and make sure we had everything we needed. We love taking visiting guests to Long Island Cafe.
The lunch portion of flounder was so small. We had guests who also commented on the portions. We had heard so much about this restaurant and it did not measure up.
Always good food. My companion had fried seafood platter and said it was very good. I had their special of shrimp and grits which I did not think was great compared with others I've had. It was adequate. Very bland.
The oyster selection was not as good as we've come to expect. The service was also slower than normal. The place might be under new ownership/management because overall it doesn't seem to be operating up to their previous standards.
Might have been since a Sunday night but ordered the pasta special -fettuccini Alfredo with spinach, capers and shrimp. It had no sauce (dry) so not much taste. Shrimp were good. Left most of it. Mashed potatoes were dry too. Fried flounder was very good.
Service and food were very good though prices seemed high relative to competitors who advertise only locally caught seafood and fish. Noise level very high and a barrier to conversation even across a small table for 2. Tables are very close together to maximize seating so that adjacent guests were less than 3 feet away on each side at our table for 2.

Our Server, Caroline and her team, were excellent and our meal delicious. Nothing could be faulted. Long Island Cafe continues to be one of our favorite places to dine. Dale
Consistently excellent. We will be back each time we are on or near IOP. Or twice per visit.
Went to IOP Raw Bar for a light dinner and left after looking over the menu. The options were just okay but the prices were very high, even by Charleston/ Mt. Pleasant standards. The raw bar is in a strip mall and they are charging $40 for a dozen raw oysters! I would rather go to someplace like The Darling or Delaneys and pay less for oysters with a much better atmosphere. I understand that it's summertime on IOP but come on guys that's really scalping the locals that will still be here in the winter.

We had a great experience — the food was freshly made and not only tasted great, but the presentation was raffinée, with clear attention to detail.
The raw oysters were impeccably clean, with no bits of shell, and beautifully presented.
The poisson du jour was original and well prepared, served with fresh green vegetables that balanced the dish nicely.
Service was attentive and well-paced, letting us enjoy the meal at our rhythm.
A refined and satisfying dining experience.

Love this place. Not a lot of options on IOP. We have been several times. We had the oysters and it was $56 for 12!!! Flounder is great.
