Avoid this tourist trap. It has been bought out and is no longer what it used to be. Food is bland, expensive (and doesn't match prices of the actual menu), and not worth the price of fast food.

This restaurant used to be amazing. My family has been coming here for years when we vacation. It was terrible. I looked it up and found it changed ownership in 2024. Everything lacked flavor from the cocktails to the food. Out of 8 people only one person liked their fish which was grouper. The appetizers and all other food items were terrible. We respectfully told the waitress that some of it was bad and she said well that is okay. She was a good waitress as far as service but she did not know how to respond to customers when they don’t like the food. We left so much food on our plates. The food was very expensive. We wont be back. So disappointed that it was so awful.

Unfortunately Long Island Cafe is not what it used to be. We’ve been coming here for many many years and tonight was a huge disappointment in terms of the taste and quality of the food. We won’t be back.

Waited a long time for our meal and the food was horrible. I got blackened shrimp and scallops, which were cold by the time they got to us. They had a few seasonings sprinkled on them but were not served “blackened”. White cheddar grits tasted like prison food. My husband got the crab cakes and they tasted like they were from a super market. Service was friendly and the she crab soup was okay but everything else was terrible. Quality and cost did not match up. Would not recommend.

Order to go, got food and it when I got to my resort was not what I ordered. On top a two piece meal at Long John's came with more food. Food was bland and I guess people go here to be seen and socialize. Never will go back!!

The Rhode Island Calamari is an insult to the state of Rhode Island😬 being from the state, that is NOT RI calamari.

Aside from that, even accounting for it being a busy Saturday night, our waitress was not attentive and did not even acknowledge that we did not touch the calamari at all. She barely visited our table so we couldn’t even bring it up. The seating outside is so cramped and right next to their hostess stand with people waiting to be seated or picked up all around you, and had I known it was outdoor seating in a plaza with a Harris Teeter, I would have chose elsewhere.. but that’s my own mistake. Next time, will be choosing other dining options in the area!

I have no idea what people are taking about when they suggest this place. First they are out of any beer you want, then they didn't have the same food as advertised online. Nothing like going out to get something you're in the mood for and getting nothing you want. Never again. Do not suggest you go here. How a costal restaurant not have fresh crab is beyond me.

It took at least 20 minutes for someone to acknowledge us while we were waiting to be seated.

Food was pretty good, but I wouldn’t come here again. Annoyed at the fact that I spent 75 dollars here just to eat lunch with my nine-year-old and left hungry. Had to order him two kids meals which is fine whatever it’s not the first time I’m not mad about that but my flounder lunch was the smallest portion of flounder I had ever gotten a restaurant in my entire life. Ambience was weird kept getting loud and quiet, service was kind of weird wasn’t very personable. Tiny little place in a shopping center definitely wouldn’t expect to spend so much and have a weird experience like that AND leave not full. Definitely don’t recommend I’ll give three stars though because the flounder and fried shrimp was pretty good but there’s definitely better spots.

Lively, popular eating spot! Make a reservation, but sit at the bar if chairs are available. Try the whole fried grouper!

The fried oysters and flounder were, once again, delicious! There's something special about Long Island Cafe where locals and vacationers can enjoy fresh seafood, excellent service, and a laid-back, coastal atmosphere. There have been changes over the years, some good and some great, but last night, we were impressed by the energy and attentiveness of everyone working. The manager always makes us feel like family. Highly recommend Sunday brunch as well! We'll be back next week!

Got the appetizer of Shrimp and Grits, very large portions especially for the pricing. Everything was fairly priced for the serving size and the atmosphere was amazing. We had Britney as our waitress, and she handled business in a very professional and controlled manner. Amazing restaurant, highly reccomend

Definitely a waste of time and money. Due to the outrageous attitude of our waiter Corry. Corry is rude, condescending, and disrespectful. We were appalled at his behavior. Literally brushing off my wife with a flick of his hand when asked for the bill. Then making us wait 10 minutes before bringing it. Corry’s opinion of the dressing I requested on a Chopped Salad and his attitude of my wife asking the difference between the Flounder preparation was unnecessary. Although this restaurant could have been something to rave about , it was not. We strongly believe Corry should look elsewhere for employment as the service industry is definitely not for him. Definitely will not be returning and suggest to others not to waste precious vacation time and money.
