I had the Mongolian beef and hot and sour soup.. my husband had the Peking chicken with hot and sour soup and an eggroll their sauce is homemade and the hot mustard was made from scratch using horseradish.... “I’ve lived here for 24 years, and tonight was the first time I’d ever been to (or even heard of ) Shanghai Tokyo. I’m from NY and was lucky to experience some of the best Chinese out there. Y’all...this place is hands down THE BEST Chinese I’ve ever had in Greenville! “They have very good food. We usually get different appetizers and we typically get 2 meals put of it. Location is easy to get to. We're from woodruff so we hop on 26 and it's about 25 mins. Food is still hot and it's worth the time to get there. The people that work there are very nice“

“I love the flavor of the food authentic! Small buffet but good variety. They remodeled a little through out the years but looks outdated, maybe the color needs changed. Outside is just plan needs better color added to building maybe flowers.“

“Fried Rice Worth the Return Trip

Currently ranking as my #1 or #2 fried rice in Greenville, this spot really surprised me. The portion size for the main plates is a little off for the price, but the real value comes from the rest of the combination platter. Around $12–$13 for soup, an appetizer, and a full meal. Fairly good for 2025.

The food overall was great, but the fried rice is what truly stands out. Bold, salty, and loaded with extras, it puts the usual “rice and a few peas” approach to shame. The interior feels outdated, but the kindness of the staff more than makes up for it. I’ll be back for the fried rice alone.. it’s that good from my personal preference.“

“I have nothing bad to say about the food as it is always delicious. That’s why I gave 5 stars. I usually have to order for delivery because I don’t get out much or often. The last time I ordered, I didn’t get the egg rolls I ordered. The same happened tonight. I always order 3 egg rolls with whatever I order. I also did not receive the sweet and sour sauce to go with my sweet and sour chicken. Luckily, I ordered some extra sauces on the side. But, sweet and sour chicken isn’t sweet and sour chicken without the sweet and sour sauce. Good was awesome as usual though and great portion sizes.

Side note: The to go containers from tonight had a very strong perfumy smell to them. Actually made my head hurt and I had to transfer the food to a different container. Are they new?“

“The first time here and the food is the best! Fresh, flavorful and we will definitely be back! The general tso tofu and shrimp egg rolls are some of the best I ever had. My fiancée had the sweet and sour chicken and loved every bite. If you want really good, fresh Chinese food this is the place!“
