“I am not one of those people who post my daily activity or what food I'm eating or rate the places I eat..until now.. I'm from New York so I've had my share of diner muffins.. I go out to breakfast 7 days a week x 365 days a year .. have had my morning meal in several South Carolina establishments..you get the picture. Sunrise Bistro recently hired a a baker, Maddy. I have had a blueberry, lemon, cranberry/orange and nutella/raspberry muffin..I can say without hesitation these are by far the best muffins I have ever had. Maddy is even going to indulge me with a bran muffin. THANK YOU SUNRISE BISTRO .. THANK YOU MADDY!!“

“Amazing food. Probably the best old fashioned I’ve had. Our server was awesome and so was the manager. My steak was over cooked and they insisted they get me a new one. The one they brought back out was probably the best steak I’ve had in Charleston. We will be back!“

“Excellent place to get a meal. We had a party of 12 and they did amazing with such a large crowd. Food was excellent. Service was friendly and prompt. Would go again. I had the crab cakes. So fluffy and sweet with a great sauce. My wife had the beet tower salad and she said it’s one of the best she’s had. Firecracker shrimp app was amazing as well.“

“Mill Street Tavern is a great place for gluten free people as well as for the ambiance for anyone. We had an amazing night here on the upstairs patio with views of the sunset and creek. The food was delicious, the drinks were great and the staff was exceptional, especially Lisa! Highly recommend!“

“I threw a surprise birthday party with 30 guests. It was terrific. The upstairs had plenty of room and seating for everyone. The food was excellent with a great selection. Staff and bartenders were very friendly, accommodating and professional. My guest could mingle upstairs or go outside and listened to a very good band. “I came in last Tuesday and had such a lovely experience. Kelly went above and beyond as a server and was such a beautiful soul. She recommended the rotisserie chicken which of course did not disappoint and was so attentive. The tzatziki was mouth watering and the Mac and cheese felt like heaven. I don’t have enough kind words in my vocabulary to say how wonderful the service was, specifically kelly. I wasn’t going to get dessert but kelly hyped it up so much that I could not resist getting it. She needs to be given a raise or something cause my dining experience was 1000000/10. I will be coming back all the time for the food but also for the service!“

Vickery’s Bar & Grill delivers a solid coastal dining experience with a laid-back vibe that feels right at home along the canal. The setting is easily one of its strongest cards—water views, boats drifting by, and a relaxed Lowcountry atmosphere that instantly puts you in vacation mode (even if you’re local).

The menu is impressively broad, offering everything from burgers and salads to pasta dishes, so there’s something for just about everyone at the table. Pair that with a tasty drink menu, and you’ve got a recipe for a very enjoyable meal. We hit it during the slow season, which meant zero wait time—a beautiful thing—and the staff was friendly and attentive without hovering.

Atmosphere-wise, the outdoor setting shines, but the interior tells a slightly older story. The inside and bar area feel a bit dated, and the bar itself could use a little TLC—nothing alarming, just noticeable. Also, fair warning: if you’re not a raw onion enthusiast, the salad onions come in hot and proud. Onion lovers will rejoice, everyone else might pick a few out.

Bottom line: Vickery’s is a great spot for good food, strong drinks, friendly service, and a canal-side view that does most of the heavy lifting. A little interior refresh would push it higher, but at 4.1 stars, it’s absolutely worth a stop—especially on a sunny, no-wait kind of day.“
