We had two great dinners here. The food was outstanding- get the catch of the day special. It's always delicious! Donovan was out server and he was absolutely wonderful and made our dinner a great experience two nights! Karen the hostess was so sweet and kind. When I'm Myrtle Beach, dine here!
First, George (our server) is absolutely FANTASTIC! He has been serving diners at Cafe Amalfi for 34 years. He was our server about 15 years ago and we were so pleased to find out he was still here. The food, however, was a bit of a disappointment. I ordered the beef tournedos and the plate came out swimming in gravy so it was hard to distinguish the beef from the mushroom and vegetables. My wife ordered the seafood diavolo. It included a good amount of seafood (shrimp, scallops,...
The view from our table was spectacular and service was outstanding. The wedge salad is delicious but sadly the linguine al Diablo was disappointing. The marinara sauce was only so so. My friends got the special (pork tenderloin) and that looked better. However we went on Easter Sunday so maybe that was a factor. Also this is in a hotel so lots of families and noisy kids(😎) so not the most romantic restaurant! Casey, our server, was superb.
