“This was my first time visiting a tropical smoothie cafe. I didn't order ahead of time. When I arrived there was not a wait for my order to be taken. I did ask for recommendations from the cashier for a smoothie. She recommended a few and I decided to try the sunrise sunset. The smoothie itself was delicious. I was able to drink all of it through the straw without anything getting clogged up. They also have a lot of options to add additional vitamins for a boost of energy. I would recommend this cafe for a quick bite to eat or drink. Most of the menu items are healthy.“
“I'm a tropical smoothie regular, albeit not at this location, but I'm leaving a review because of Genesis — who turned my whole day around.
When I carpooling to work a few days ago, I ordered some smoothies for pickup and asked my friend to grab them after she'd dropped me off. After a while, she let me know they didn't have the order. Thinking it must not have processed, I put the order for two smoothies in again ... and then realized too late that they were both placed at the North Charleston location. Not only did I not have breakfast (because my friend didn't have time to go all the way there and back), I was out forty dollars because the orders had been placed for ASAP– making them non-refundable.
A few hours later, I was making deliveries at work when I got a call from this store. The employee on the phone politely informed me that they had two of the same order waiting for me. After I explained my unfortunate mistake and telling her she didn't have to hold onto them because I wouldn't be able to pick them up until later, she offered to put them in the freezer for me.
That afternoon, when I was finally able to retrieve my four-smoothie-breakfast order, Genesis greeted me immediately and said she'd take care of my order right away. Except that instead of bringing me the melted-and-refrozen smoothies I'd purchased (and was ready to accept with shame,) she very remade the whole order fresh, kindly explaining that she knew how watery they could get after sitting too long.
I was blown away by Genesis's service, kindness, and her smoothies were really good.“
“Please, please, please read this. We love this place. The food is delicious and healthy! However, significant changes need to be made on how you are staffing your store. I placed an online order at 4:30 to pick up at 5:15 and still didn’t leave until 5:30. There were only 2 employees there trying to fulfill a massive influx in online orders. Please know your location is near an aquatic center that has swim meets on a regular basis. Know when those meets are and staff accordingly. The two women working tonight were amazing and really trying their best to keep up. I can’t imagine how many employees you may have already lost from them burning out on lack of support from management and how much extra you have had to spend on new onboarding and training. Help yourself and give your employees the support they need. It was sad to see the stress they had trying to keep up.“
