I love this place!! The desserts are very unique and beautiful! My most recent dessert was not on the menu but an employee suggestion. (The Russell double). Holy cow, it's good! It's my new favorite. I can't wait to go back!!!
It definitely is an experience. The texture of shaved snow is very hard to explain. I recommend you try it at least once!The shaved snow is really a perfect description of the texture. It's not like shaved ice because there's no detectable ice crystals or chunks. It's not like ice cream because it isn't really a creamy texture and not at all dense. I loved going to the local ice cream or frozen custard stand with my family when I was a kid... and Vampire Penguin is a reminder of it. There's outdoor seating (umbrella tables) and indoor as well. A very small strip mall near Lowe's and Target. Staff is friendly and helpful-- though not chatty. VP caters to families, even though the prices are a bit higher than at a crushed ice stand.
