We’re here, but nobody’s home…. Stopped by on 8/14 after checking the hours of operation online, but the doors are locked and nobody’s here. They either have an awol employee or they don’t have enough respect for their customers to open on time. Beware if you are considering a long drive (or a long walk in our case) to visit as they may or may not be there when you arrive.

This is the best ice cream I've ever had! This is the best out of all local shops, national chains, and grocery store ice creams across the US. I come back once a year and look forward to getting this ice cream every time.
The Oreo ice cream is chocolate Oreo and it's fantastic.

Oreo ice cream is very good, probably close to best I've had
The ice cream is perfect for a hot day; there are about 10 flavors to choose from. But what really stood out to me is how nice the staff was. The child in our party was asking for water and the worker came around the counter with a glass of water for her. Hard to find that kind of service today !
As far as ice cream goes, a big disappointment. We always seek out local ice cream places and even my 13 yo ranked this a 3 out of 10. Not sure if freezer issues, but the consistency was super soft and was melted before we even stepped outside. The cookie dough was basically just vanilla ice cream. The mango sorbet was way too sweet and the portions were not at all the same. One server scooped a single scoop portion that looked like the size you’d make for a dog. Another server scooped a single scoop the size of a double. Made no sense. Nice setting, but poor ice cream and also not many flavors to choose from.

Our server Ellie was exceptional! We had a lovely meal on a brisk winter day. The sheet crab soup is delicious and the lobster grilled cheese is amazing. Wonderful food and great service!
So disappointed in Salty Dog Cafe. Our family hoped to sit outside with our 10 pound poodle and enjoy lunch, as we have in the past. Seems that Salty Dog has instituted a NO DOG policy! Over the years we’ve sat outside with our four legged family member. But no more! On a dog friendly island such as Seabrook we were stunned to be turned away. The place was not crowded at all and many of the shops in the marina are out of business. Seems the Salty Dog would be happy for our business. We were told we could get food to go and then carry it to some nearby tables in the Marina to eat. Umm no. Might be time to change the name to NO Dog Cafe. Please rethink your no pet policy! We went into nearby Freshfields to spend our money where we were welcomed warmly and served at an outdoor table WITH our dog.
Have dined at the location in Hilton Head since the late 80's and always had great food . But Seabrook was terrible. Tomato in salad still had part of the stem on it. Hush puppies were old. They were fried so much I could not bite thru them. The she crab soup was thick and brown, my spoon was able to stand straight up without falling. It reminds me of oatmeal. The only positive I can say is the service, it was great.I should have read the other reviews before we went.
Nice atmosphere outside on the water at sunset with a guitar player. I'm not sure if he was part of the restaurant or on public space but no matter. Unfortunately the food is just not good and pretty expensive considering the quality so 80% of what you pay (a lot) for is location. The bill would have been the same or less at one of the nice restaurants on Kiawah. The staff was friendly and attentive. My advice is just have drinks and maybe an appetizer, enjoy the sunset and music, pick up a cool t shirt if you want. There's a patio in the back of the building next door where people were hanging out so that may be an option to consider instead. I'm not sure what's there.
I gave this review a one for location and service as both were great. On the other hand the food was terrible!! Fish and chips was inedible, and grouper looked like grade school hot lunch . A ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes no seasoning, butter or gravy, in edible green beans a grouper was terrible overcooked and no seasoning. RUN AWAY

Love sitting outside and watching the boats come in and go out… ♥️
Food and drink here is amazing. The shrimp and grits were fantastic to go with the amber ale!! Great place.
Fun location at the marina but in general not worth the visit. Our server was ok, but just ok. They were not particularly busy on a Tuesday early evening but drinks were slow coming. The beer was good and cold but the mixed drinks including the special were not good at all. Food was fair at best. Too many other choices so I will avoid in the future.
We were at Freshfields and promised the kids ice cream, but Ben & Jerry's was closed. We found this shop just down the road and it was absolutely delicious! As you can tell, we finished every bit ?
I drive out of my way to enjoy this place ?
