“best asian food in Summerville“

“It's been a long time since I visited Pagoda in Summerville. I can't even say why because this place has always been and still is delicious. I am pretty sure all in the know understands they have the best Chinese chicken wings around! Maybe it's just location that keeps me from visiting this place as much as I would like. Years ago it was further up Trolly Road in a different building and I loved it. I had the main character for most Chinese spots (in my opinion) Pork fried rice (extra egg) and 4pc chicken wing. Nothing special but, cheap and delicious! Don't be like me and forget about this place, it's worth it. I will say they only do takeout and judging by the amount of people going in and out as I waited.... a lot of people support them. I was happy to see that.“

“Yum! Went here for the first time and was very pleased. Most Chinese restaurants around here are somewhat lacking, but this one shines. The food was fresh, tasty, and still hot when I got it home. From now on, this is my Chinese takeout of choice.
Best in the area.“

“Convenient location plenty of parking right off 26 and 17. Easily accessible from Nexton and Sangaree as well as surrounding area. Call ahead food ready in less than 30 minutes.
I moved from NJ 10 years ago and they are all the Chinese I remember from home. Prices have remained reasonable and portions are generous for lunch meals.
I probably order from them once or twice a month and the food is always consistent I have never had a bad experience always accurate and delicious.
There is not really any dine in seating since covid so I would suggest take out only now. There are table to wait and they would probably let you eat in but I am not sure and it is not set up that way any longer.“

“It's funny seeing all the one star reviews comments about how the General Tso chicken was pink inside(duh, it's always pink inside. Sounds to me like you like extra well done steak.. keep chewing my friend).Seen one where the man bun complained about how they wouldn't substitute an egg roll because of his allergies(duh the entire cooking platform is cross contaminated and they wont take the risk.. moron). The one review about the crab ragoon.. yeah sometimes they don't get it perfect, but a 1 star. You're trash and sound entitled. This place has been open for over 30 years. It has to be the Michigan's and Ohians giving these bad reviews because us southerners who know this restaurant know they consistency of their taste and accuracy.Last but not least is the guy saying they had no flavor.. b'ish if you didn't fry your mouth with ketchup, hot sauce, curry, and mustard you'd be able to taste it.Anyways.. this was boring even though it started out fun. Just hate seeing cry babies give a one star because they got hurt feelings or something as silly.“

“When you’re hunting for Chinese food, there’s always that nagging little fear: “Is this going to taste like food court regret?” Let me tell you—this spot obliterates that fear. It’s as authentic and mouthwatering as it gets around here! Picture this: huge portions of fresh veggies and tender meat, fried rice so good you’ll forget all other carbs, orange chicken with actual fresh orange peels (yes, real oranges!), and spring rolls so crisp and light, they might just ruin you for all others. Oh, and don’t sleep on the egg drop soup—it’s pure, cozy, savory perfection. Do yourself a favor and try it all. We did, and now we’re officially hooked.“

“The food is fresh & good! The staff is awesome! Definitely a neighborhood spot. My fav is the chicken and brocoli with house special fried rice. The flavor is goods and the food is cooked properly! Which I have notice other places struggle to do. I have a sensitive stomach and the food here has not cause any issues, which I love.“

“Great food. Phone orders are taken by the New York office and sent to her by some sort of fax. They will tell you that it will be ready in 15 minutes, but I've come there 20 to 30 min after my phone order, and it still don't be ready. If they can fix that problem (of telling people it will be ready in 15 minutes and it ends up never ready in that time frame), then this will be a five-star place all the time. But until that's fixed, I would have to rate it a three star.“

“Solid Chinese food! if you’re looking for a good takeout spot, or a place to quickly stop in and get some basic, reliable Chinese food, this is the place! We moved to the area and were looking for our “go to” spot for when we want Chinese takeout on the fly, and this place definitely does the trick. I think it has everything you’d want from an average Chinese spot. Very large menu with all the classics, and very reasonably priced. The service was good as well. It seemed like it was being run by a family, and they were very hospitable. We happened to be the only ones in the store at the time, and so the food was freshly made The only downside was that it is very small inside, and not too good for large parties. The atmosphere also leaves much to be desired. But then again, you can’t expect too much from a strip mall Chinese joint in terms of interior design. This is NOT a fancy restaurant for a date night or anything, so don’t come in dressed in a suit or a ball gown. As I said before, this is just your every day, solid, reliable, hospitable, neighborhood Chinese spot. I recommend the General Tso’s chicken. The side of broccoli was also extremely good. Whatever they do to their broccoli is phenomenal! Very generous portion of fried dumplings as well. One other small negative was the hot and sour soup. I felt like it was too “gloopy” and thick. However, that’s a tiny negative. The rest of the food was great! So please make this your next stop for takeout Chinese food! My wife and I will definitely be coming back soon!“

“I'm leaving this review mainly because I love Hong Kong's steamed and fried dumplings. I moved to Summerville 2 years ago after living in NY my whole life, and this is the only Chinese food restaurant I’ve found in Summerville that makes dumplings the same way they do up north. It seems everywhere else (at least in Summerville) makes pot stickers and calls them dumplings. Not the same at all. If you know you know. I do also enjoy the rest of the food on their menu, but shout out to Hong Kong for making New York style dumplings, something I've greatly missed since moving to Summerville. Also the employees are nice people and have only had good service in all of my experiences.“

“The food is always good and flavorful and I’m picky. I do think then switched to a cheaper rice like uncle Ben’s and that isn’t my favorite but overall it is consistently good. The cheese wontons and Lo mein are YUM! Great General Tso, Fried rice, and chicken and broccoli. Haven’t tried anything other than chicken as the protein.“
