Palmetto Oyster House offers top-notch food with a Southern hospitality touch. It is a great local place to grab something to eat and has become a favorite and most consistent place to eat in Sumter. The steak and crab legs were fabulous, cooked to perfection. The catfish bites had a Cajun kick and were delicious. Everything tasted fresh and hand-breaded, especially the shrimp and oysters. The homemade tartar sauce was a hit. The friendly servers provide great suggestions and fast service. With a playground for kids, this restaurant is a gem worth revisiting to try more of their delightful dishes, including the highly recommended Mermaid Nachos and Alligator cheesecake.
