I had high expectations (that was my first mistake) for fried chicken because some of the best I have ever had were in the south. These pieces were dry and lacking flavor. The sides were bland and dry as well. The chicken was obviously under a heat lamp and certainly not cooked to order. Both my brother and I had the same opinion after dining there. We were at the beach May 1st and decided to try Southern Chicken. We had never eaten here before but let me tell you we will be back. This was the best fried chicken we have had at the beach and we have tried several places. My husband is not a chicken fan but goes because I love it. He has changed his mind. He even went back and we were just there a week. The sides were delicious. In two trips we tried the green beans mashed potatoes and gravy, slaw and sweet potato casserole....read full review

When it first opened it was really good but now it’s just gone downhill maybe they lost all their good help due to COVID but the chicken is dry bland and either way over cooked or cooked in dirty oil either way southern chicken is a shell of its former self
