Cypress was our waitress and she was amazing. She was super friendly and able to answer out questions about gluten free food there.
It’s first come first serve so you seat yourself at an open clean table. There are no signs telling you this. Generous portions. I have the breakfast bowl. It was good but extremely salty

The food was very salty 🤢
Food is not bad, about average for a establishment of this type. The teenage girls who make the coffee always seem to mess it up somehow, very inconsistent, overly sweet or no sweetness at all.

Every-time I get a drink here it’s always made wrong. If Alec isn’t making your coffee then expect it to be awful.

I had the breakfast burrito, it was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy.

Ive never eaten at the same place more than once on vacation, but all 3 mornings we were in Custer, it was the only place my whole group wanted to go. Food was delicious, portions were perfect, and the staff was super friendly. The theme was everything we hoped for as well. Thank you guys for starting each of our days in town with smiles and a full belly 😁

Server never checked back, multiple trip to get the basics for breakfast, no coffee refills or water. Had the check quick, and asked if I needed change!! Paid with cash and the change was wrong??

If you are hungry don't go here. I sat 15 minutes without being acknowledged by either waitress, finally i asked ine waitress are you my waitress she said no and walked away, mind you they each had only 4 tables, my waitress finally took my order, the busboy brought it out to me and I never saw my waitress again, I watched as other customers waited, did not get waited on and left, I could have walked out without paying but would not and had to go to the counter to pay my tab, even that took forever, avoid!

We had to wait a little while for a table, no big deal. They told us the kitchen was backed up and our food would take about 45min. It only ended up taking about 10, so we were thrilled as we had a tour to get to. My husband and oldest got the breakfast burritos and really enjoyed them. They were huge! My daughter got the steak sandwich and said it was amazing. My youngest enjoyed his French toast.
I got the veggie omelet and it was not great. There were raw stringy veggies in it, carrots and I couldn't tell what the other stuff was. It was really weird biting into an omelet and getting a mouth full of crunchy veggies. It was supposed to have portobello mushrooms but I didn't see any other than a couple super tiny cut up pieces of mushroom. The cheese piled on top stayed cold. I wish I had ordered a regular cheese omelet and asked to add mushrooms. I would definitely not recommend the veggie omelet. I couldn't eat it.
Calamity Jane's is a must visit when in Custer! We were taken great care of by Calypso during each of our dine-in visits (yes, we loved it so much we went multiple times!). The fruit tart is *phenomenal*, the chicken fried steak is the best I've ever had, and the coffee is amazing!! We did take out once and dine-in twice, every single visit was fantastic. The atmosphere is also great! (P.S. Happy Birthday Calypso!)
