Place has change over the years. People working there seem like they do not want to be there. We always eat here when visiting Custer, but this year felt different everything seemed so quiet and odd. We do love the view to the lake and we will always be back.
Very nice place to eat. Great views, great food.
Can not say enough good things about this sweet spot. Misty was our server and just so sweet and welcoming. We talked to her about local places and how much we love SD and engaged about our motorcycle rides during the week. We came twice for breakfast and had the same thing twice, myself the breakfast sandwich and my husband the buffalo and egg wrap, absolutely delicious. This will be our new spot especially with the views!

Dockside Grill offers delicious food, including amazing cheeseburgers, mashed potatoes, and salads. The restaurant boasts a clean atmosphere and a beautiful view of Legion Lake. Guests can enjoy good service and outdoor seating with a lake view, making it a perfect spot for a meal. The scenic location makes it a must-visit when exploring the area. Visitors often praise the huge portions and outstanding service, with many recommending the hot beef sandwich and side of fries. The restaurant is part of Legion Lake Lodge, which offers paddleboard and kayak rentals on the lake. Though seasonal, it remains a favorite for its spectacular view and good prices, with nearby hiking trails for a walk after dining. The food was delicious! The chicken sandwich and fish & chips were great. It’s a bit pricier than usual, but absolutely worth it for the view and peaceful atmosphere. The buffalo burger with avocado is highly recommended, and the onion rings were excellent. The Turkey B.L.A.T. sandwich had fresh prepped ingredients with a homemade sweet pepper sauce on toasted bakery bread. The Steakhouse Potato Salad was yum, and the Chicken Fried Steak with appealing and delicious gravy was very good.
