“Awesome service and amazing food! They went above and beyond for us because we knew we had to leave quickly and it was a busy evening for them. My new favorite place!”
“It's a blast, food , fun, drinks and friends. It feels like you're going to a familiar place, where you're known like an old friend and welcomed like you're family!”
“The location is at Casey's General store. Otherwise, Love the spot it is placed on map. I was thinking? "Catfish... Chicken of the River!" ,?? I believe I know the reason for this specific location on map which stakes the claim for sure. Southbound Pachyderm duuuude!”
“I'm sure they do a great job all day long, but I have only been there later in the evening and it is an Oasis for a thirsty and hungry traveler. There is not much open in Pierre later into the evenings. Being able to stop in the Chuckwagon late at night and get not just a drink but some simple and tasty bar food is wonderful. Service is steady, friendly but not always fast. Hard to find folks willing to work late nights in a small city. The folks they have there are great and work really hard. I'm a very occasional out of town visitor and the times I've been there both the staff and the regulars were really warm and friendly.”
“We stopped here after a disappointing meal elsewhere. The girls behind the counter were super nice and helpful. The soft serve was very yummy in a chocolate shake and my husband enjoyed his mint chocolate swirl as well.”
“The young man making pizza and watching over the salad bar had so much hair that you couldn't see his face. What happened to hair nets or better yet pulling your hair back. I was not impressed with him.i think that the health department should visit them.”
“Took a while for someone to recognize that we had just entered the restaurant and would like to be seated. Server did a good job after that. Had strawberry crepes, bacon, and scrambled eggs. Crepes were good, bacon was cooked well, but were very small, almost microscopic! Scrambled eggs were overcooked, dry, and tasteless.”
“I was in Pierre for a week and this was my staple place to go for a meal. Their sandwiches are awesome, my personal favorite was the breakfast croissant sandwich and the chai tea. I will definitely be coming back here every time I visit Pierre. They have chocolates (a good assortment) that I packed to go.”
“We were in the area hunting and decided for the full experience after having steaks would be to swing by for some ice cream. An excellent choice of course - vary flavorful. Used to live in Pierre in the late 80s/early 90s and would bring the family down here. Still looks the same and as tasty as ever!”
“Ended up going here twice in twos while in on a work trip. The only time I needed the knife given was to butter my cornbread. The brisket was insane and the ribs truly did fall off the bones. Get the mac and cheese as a side. The mashed potatoes were great too. They had some sort of spicy in them that I wasn’t expecting but loved. If you’re in Pierre you gotta go.Both times I was here service was great and food came out fast. There was wifi to hook up to for an end of day meeting while I ate.”
“Great brews, food, people & ambiance! It's a lot like Cheers; now all it needs is a "Norm!" If you're passing through Pierre, it's definitely worth a visit :)”
“I wanted to check this place out. Authentic Japanese food for sure, and not made by latins. They have a nice variety of sushi and other dishes and desserts. I will return for more good stuff.”
“If you get a smoothie, make sure the girl spins the blender some extra. I had chunks of ice in mine a couple times. A little pricey if you're poor, like me. But great product! Worth it. And the staff is friendly and kind.”
“We stopped into St. Charles Lounge, it was awesome. Want to give a special shout out to Sophie, our bartender. She did not just make drinks, she crafted them...and crafted them well! She took the time to make them properly yet was very fast at doing it. I have been working in the Bar/Restaurant business for over 40 years and Sophie impressed me. The atmosphere and vibe of the bar was very relaxing, warm, and welcoming. I give kudos to Sophie, and the bar.....had a wonderful experience....!!!”
“What a fun find! The gentleman that work there obviously love what they're doing! Loved hearing about flavor options and how they roast the beans. Can't wait to go to Pierre again for another visit!”
“I can only speak to the burgers and fries. I have been here three times (once a year in January) and the food has been decent every time. Quite a few average beers on tap. Dark atmosphere with tons of screens for catching various games. The wait staff was friendly, attentive, and efficient.”
“My flight was delayed for a day so I ended up having several glasses of Pinot Grigio with a Salad Niçoise…wow this place is cozy, my fiancé and I were romanced by its classic charm. I forgot the brand of the wine but it was supple and light with a nice Granny Smith note I kept coming back for. If I ever come back to Pierre, I will certainly come back here! (:”
“Phenomenal service, personalities, and food! Second time here and will be coming every weekend from now on! Breakfast cocktails are delicious and beers are cold, while the chicken fried steaks and bacon hot and on point!!!! Come on down!”
“It was amazing! The staff was really kind and went to serve you as soon as possible. They regularly went over to your table and asked if you wanted more or wanted to close your tab. They have warm fresh popcorn ready to eat with freshly melted butter and optional popcorn salt. There are multiple choices for your pizza? They also have kid friendly drinks. Pop and other drinksParking: There are multiple parking spots in the front and some others in the back. There is so much space even for long and wide vehiclesKid-friendliness: Kids are welcome and plenty of activities for them to do like chalk, board games, and card games.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a step in the back but there is a ramp at the front door and enough space to squeeze through where the popcorn machine is and the wall.”
“Cute little dinner with some solid food. I tried the Philly special (they ran out of Green Peppers) but it was still a real good Sammy and the waffle fries were on ”
“Been a customer since the opening. Great establishment with greater people running the show. Couldn’t ask for a better local spot to enjoy company with family friends and the everyday person.”
“Long line up drive-thru but didn't last all that long. The coffee itself is fast-food tier but overall worth a visit for a quick coffee + sandwich for the road.”
“We stopped in and ordered a couple of hoagies for supper from the new menu. They were very good with plenty of meat. The prices have gone up some. The older lady making our food was very pleasant and had a smile for everyone.Parking: 15”
“I go here every chance I get! They sell out sometimes, so you gotta get there sooner than later, but that’s how you know they are the best! Their meatloaf day is my favorite! It’s like a homemade meal from your grandma, everyday!”
“In town to enjoy pheasant hunting. Ate here on a Friday night with a group of 12. Enjoyed the Walleye along with a bowl of French Onion Soup. Excellent choices. Large group did not stress out server and orders were all correct.”
“Real talk for a second. I used to love the chicken here. It was the best around. But I feel like it's gone downhill in the past couple years give or take. I'm telling ya, it's like watching your son falling to his death. It makes me sad. It could just be that it has it's ups and downs in quality but it used to be consistent. sussy baka”
“So good! Meats and cheese layered thick. Everything was fresh. Prices are reasonable for what you get at this location. Big plus that it’s in a Walmart.Parking: Good for semi trucks”
“Great lunch buffet! Plenty of choices, it's all fresh, and I loved everything on my plate. I really enjoyed the fried spring rolls and the green pepper chicken. The fried rice was also very good.”
“Family friendly!! Lots wonderful food choices available. Buffet kept fresh frequently. In town visiting the State Capital for Christmas Tree display! We will be back!!!”
“Dined in with my family of 6 on 02/16/24 for supper. We had burgers, seasoned fries, fish, bbq ribs, seasoned mashed potatoes, garden salads. We were seated at a large table in the far NE corner of the dining room. The seating location was PERFECT...especially with a 5 year old child. Wait time was minimal. Food was EXCELLENT. Servers were EXCELLENT. They checked regular on us with smiles and very attentive to refilling drinks. Will definitely return on regular basis.Parking: Parking lot is a new, level concrete surface rather than the ol busted asphalt that plagues most parking lots. It was plowed clear of snow & ice.Kid-friendliness: Our 5-year old was pleased....”
